Job Title: General Manager, India & South Asia

Reporting Manager: Vice President, Sales APAC

 

Job Summary

Provides leadership and direction for India and South Asia sales and marketing team. Responsible for achieving / exceeding commercial plan for India & South Asia region for the full range of TBCT products. Responsible for planning, designing, and executing Marketing Strategies by working closely with sales teams, and aligning with global and regional marketing strategies in order to facilitate business growth and market penetration.

 

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for P&L, products margin, and sales management.
  • Establish business goals and milestones to realise business growth for India & South Asia region and TBCT.
  • Advocate operational excellence; be able to bring the big ideas into practice in India & South Asia market with workable strategies and pragmatic action plans.
  • Identify market opportunities by assessing market trends, reading customers’ needs, analysing competitor moves, monitoring policies dynamics; can translate market intelligence into operational plans.
  • Improve and expand existing business models to adapt to the market and technology change and evolution.
  • Develop mid-long term business strategy and annual plan with clear priorities and operational relevance.
  • Develop further business process and marshal business resources in a highly cost-effective manner.
  • Build a vigorous channel management strategy and system to support the business expansion from geographical and portfolio perspectives.
  • Establish pricing management strategy plan to foresee and prepare for the pricing challenges that may come in future.
  • Build a strong industry network and strengthen company’s image amongst stakeholders from blood centers, hospitals and Bio-tech companies to actively engage or positively influence industry standards.
  • In the absence of complete information or difficult and sophisticated situation, to use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions while taking care of the interest of the organisation and business.
  • With evolvement of business transformation, diagnose, foresee and cultivate the organization capabilities which are critical for the success of business strategy implementation.
  • Coach and feedback on individual’s and team’s development, provide career direction to motivate and drive engagement, ownership and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • As a role model, coach, guide, motivate and strengthen the leadership and management skills among local team to develop their ability to manage larger scale business, and be courageous to speak up on global platform.
  • In the face of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity), stand out and lead team to make high quality decisions while coaching team on the “why, how and what” so that they can handle such situations independently in future.
  • Responsible for talent retention and development, in charge of developing and retaining internal talents, selecting and attracting external talents, implementing staffing review and succession plan to build talent ladder and diverse talent pool.
  • Enable team to have a whole picture view, connect dots and context, think holistically instead of sporadically.
  • Lead and collaborate with supporting function teams and be accountable for all the decision making which may have impact to SEA business and organization.
  • Have strong ability to work under high pressure, heavy workload and long hours; stay calm and composed in stressful, difficult or ambiguous situations.

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, economics, finance, medical, pharmaceutical or other relevant fields.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in business management and diverse team management
  • Solid experience in medical device or life science industry
  • Relevant experience in P&L responsibility preferred
