The Sales Administrator for Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) – APAC is a critical operational and commercial support role within the CGT business. This position combines inside sales responsibilities with comprehensive sales operations support, acting as the primary administrative and commercial backbone for the CGT Director – APAC and the broader CGT commercial team across the region.
Cell & Gene Therapy is a rapidly evolving field with complex customer requirements, regulatory considerations, and long sales cycles. The ideal candidate brings deep commercial administration experience, an ability to thrive in ambiguity, and a genuine interest in the life sciences or medical technology space.
Inside Sales & Commercial Support
• Proactively manage and qualify inbound leads and enquiries across the APAC region, routing opportunities to the appropriate commercial team members.
• Support the end-to-end sales process — from initial customer enquiry through quoting, proposal preparation, and order processing — ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Prepare commercial proposals, pricing summaries, and tender documentation in coordination with the CGT Director and regional sales teams.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing accounts through regular follow-ups, check-ins, and proactive communication, particularly for smaller or lower-complexity accounts.
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base and escalate to the CGT Director or relevant commercial leads.
• Coordinate and support customer product demonstrations, webinars, and virtual meetings as required.
• Track and manage the APAC CGT sales pipeline in the CRM system (e.g. Salesforce), ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timely updates.
Sales Operations & Administration
• Own the day-to-day sales administration for the CGT APAC business — including order entry, order tracking, delivery coordination, and invoice follow-up.
• Ensure all demo devices and related accessories are properly maintained, tracked and deployed according to sales and marketing needs.
• Liaise with supply chain, logistics, customer service, and finance teams to ensure seamless fulfilment and resolution of order-related issues.
• Prepare and distribute regular sales performance reports, pipeline summaries, and activity dashboards for the CGT Director and APAC leadership.
• Maintain accurate records of customer contracts, pricing agreements, and compliance documentation in line with company policies.
• Coordinate the review and renewal of service agreements, distribution contracts, and master supply agreements across the APAC region.
• Support the annual budget planning cycle by collating regional sales data, forecasts, and input from country teams.
• Administer the CGT Director's calendar, travel, expense claims, and meeting logistics as required.
Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
• Serve as a key point of contact for APAC CGT customers on administrative and commercial matters, delivering a high standard of responsiveness and service.
• Coordinate with distributors, affiliates, and direct customers across APAC to manage order flows, resolve queries, and maintain strong working relationships.
• Manage communications between the CGT APAC team and internal stakeholders including marketing, regulatory, medical affairs, and supply chain.
• Organise and support regional CGT commercial events, advisory boards, customer visits, and congresses — including logistics, materials, and attendee coordination.
• Ensure customers receive timely product information, regulatory updates, and relevant clinical materials in collaboration with the marketing and medical affairs teams.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
• Monitor the APAC CGT competitive landscape and maintain an up-to-date overview of key accounts, competitor activity, and market developments.
• Compile and analyse customer and sales data to support strategic decision-making by the CGT Director.
• Support the preparation of business reviews, regional presentations, and board-level reporting packs.
• Track field activity, customer visit reports, and follow-up actions from the CGT commercial team to ensure timely closure.
Compliance & Quality
• Ensure all commercial activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company SOPs, and industry codes of conduct.
• Maintain accurate documentation for customer interactions, contracts, and regulatory submissions as required in the CGT space.
• Support internal and external audit requirements as they relate to the CGT commercial function.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a sales administration, inside sales, or commercial operations role — ideally within medical devices, life sciences, biotech, or healthcare.
• Prior exposure to Cell & Gene Therapy, or a similarly complex and regulatedsimilar product category, is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated experience supporting senior commercial leaders and working across cross-functional APAC teams.
• Track record of managing high-volume, detail-intensive administrative and sales workflows with accuracy and professionalism.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of B2B sales processes, pipeline management, and customer lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional APAC languages (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean) is a plus.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Self-starter with strong initiative — comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited day-to-day supervision.
• Collaborative team player who builds trust quickly across diverse cultural and functional groups.
• Strong sense of discretion and professionalism when handling commercially sensitive or confidential information.
• Genuine interest in and curiosity about Cell & Gene Therapy and the broader life sciences landscape.
