To ensure a successful product launch and product uptake within the breast cancer and therapeutic apheresis environment, Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is opening up an exciting role in our team for a Patient and Market Access Manager in France.


In this role, you will take responsibility for all reimbursement and patient access-related activities within the region. This includes but is not limited to developing the health economic value proposition; engaging with payers, hospital administrators, patient groups, prescribers, and therapy providers; presenting the hospital business case, and working towards favorable health policies.


The ideal candidate can balance between moving the needle in the short-term (<2y) and setting the stage for future product uptake (3-5y). Success in this role is demonstrated by the volume of patients that have access to our novel therapies.



  • In collaboration with the regional and global market access leader, determine reimbursement pathways and strategies for the country.
  • Take the lead on the execution of these strategies in the field.
  • Apply for the application of existing reimbursement codes and funding in favor of the therapy as well as identify and access new pathways for funding.
  • Identify opportunities for health data collection and health economic value demonstration together with the local stakeholders and the commercial organization.
  • Educate and persuade payers, prescribers, patient organizations, policymakers, and providers on the value of the treatments.
  • Develop a regional value story and value dossier to support reimbursement requests.
  • Works cross-functionally with direct peers from medical affairs, marketing, and clinical sales to enhance patient access.
  • Responsible for responding to customer inquiries relating to policies, reimbursement policies, and health economics




  • Knowledge required to perform at this level is generally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience or above.
  • Post-graduate training in market access, health policy, or health outcomes/economics with a minimum of 5 years experience in a market access function is preferred.



  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry. Experience in the medical device industry is a strong asset.
  • Specific experience working with public, regional/national, or commercial payers is required.
  • Experience providing health economics training to internal stakeholders is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and integrate business strategies into actionable, value-added reimbursement and outcomes initiatives.
  • Experience consulting and executing on health outcomes projects from inception to publication.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of French healthcare systems including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies related to the device industry, and technology assessment.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to develop relationships at all levels in an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment.
  • Must speak French, together with English (business proficiency), other languages covered is a strong asset.



  • Working remotely from the home office as a standard.
  • Frequent travel within the country (national); up to 5% international travel for team meetings is required.
