Independently performs timely and accurate technical and analytical work and testing on the highest level of complex experiments, building of prototypes, set up of raw materials, and clean up of equipment.  Performs tasks related to the scientific or engineering fields in compliance with Company and external regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures. 

 

Working under minimal supervision, responsible for managing and maintaining activities for the successful operation of calibrated equipment. Entails locating/submitting equipment for calibration, putting together databases and other hard-copy records, and maintaining inventory parts in the department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs testing on products. Including, but not limited to: Leak test, burst testing, occlusion testing, pull testing, visual inspections, and dimensional inspections utilizing hand tools, optical comparator, and/or CMM.
  • Collaborates and effectively interfaces with engineers in the design, development, and building of test fixtures, test protocols/procedures, monitoring strategies, or inspection results commensurate with experience level.
  • Conducts and reports trends in area of responsibility to identify opportunities for improvement, solution for issues, and recommends actions.
  • Maintains, accurately follows, and protocols, procedures, and test logs.
  • Collaborates with engineers or scientists in the design, development, and building of fixtures, test protocols / procedures, monitoring strategies, or inspection results with experience level.
  • Creates and modifies test procedures, as needed.
  • Performs technical, administrative, and logistical responsibilities in identifying lab or work area needs.
  • Provides work direction and training for less experienced technicians.
  • Develops standards, tools, and methods and provides or writes documentation to a level required by the department.
  • Maintains accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Calibration: Schedules and coordinates equipment calibration.
  • Calibration: Works as a liaison between the company and calibration service provider. This includes fielding questions from calibration service provider, logging and managing equipment status, and managing equipment depot.
  • Calibration: Proactively works with all metrology customers to ensure timely calibration resulting in limited overdue equipment and balanced monthly workflow.
  • Calibration: Manages all Equipment Variance Actions, including issuance, review, tracking, and closure.
  • Calibration: Performs quality checks of calibration service
  • Calibration: Performs routine (preventive) maintenance activities for calibrated equipment, as required.
  • Pursues continued growth in TPM, maintenance planning practices, CMMS utilization, and spare parts management
  • May be required to provide database information to groups.
  • Maintains laboratory supplies, orders parts, calibrates, and maintains equipment.
  • May requires travel to local vendor locations to provide or pick-up equipment.
  • May lead special projects.
  • May support routine receiving quality assurance inspections using hand tools, Keyence Optical Comparator, OGP Smart Scope, and/or Ziess CMM.
  • May write engineering reports to summarize data and findings.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Some college, with equivalent training in one or more of the following as required by the department:
  • Lab Sciences: math, chemistry, metrology, biology, physics, hematology, physiology, anatomy, or related sciences
  • Equipment Development: hydraulics, electronics, mechanics, or related fields.
  • Manufacturing Process: statistics, math, or related engineering sciences.
  • Software Development: electronics, computer programming, or related fields.
  • Data Entry/Analysis: math, physics, software, or related sciences and/or fields.
  • Metrology.
  • Engineering disciplines or technical training.

 

Experience

Minimum 7 years experience

 

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical operations and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of state-of-the-art technology related to their function.
  • Requires a fundamental understanding of electronics, flow, temperature, conductivity, pressure, dimensional measurement, gravity, and torque.
  • Familiar with equipment applications and utilization.
  • Possesses excellent understanding of calibrated equipment applications and utilization.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

LOCATION

Littleton, Colorado - Open to candidates willing to relocate to the area. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range:  $32.00 to $41.00 -  Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
