JOB TITLE: Operations Finance Manager

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

Working with minimum supervision, responsible for development of new financial systems, as well as the maintenance, monitoring and enhancing of existing systems, evaluating the adequacy and implementing improvements to those systems, in accordance with FASB, IASB, IRS and SEC regulations pertaining to the General Accounting and Cost Accounting for Manufacturing Operations.  Responsible for actual input of complex accounting or financial transactions and management for cost accounting and related financial analysis staff.  Accountable for the specific financial functions including financial reporting for manufacturing operating units, planning, strategic direction setting and cross functional support of the manufacturing operations area.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the financial reporting and analysis of all US and non-US manufacturing operations activities.
  • Evaluates the overall effectiveness of the cost accounting function, its relationship within the business and implement improvements.
  • Directs the development of manufacturing related financial systems to ensure integrity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Terumo BCT accounting policies.
  • Utilizes expertise to interpret the various outside generated requirements and practices and determines their applicability to the business.
  • Responsible to produce standard costs that are calculated and established following current best practices and Terumo BCT BCT policy across all factories.
  • Responsible for understanding and communicating manufacturing variance analysis in a clear fashion to manufacturing and financial management.
  • Responsible for development of all forward-looking product costing estimates as part of new business analysis and annual planning processes.
  • Responsible for implementing and managing transfer prices between factories in accordance with transfer pricing agreements.
  • Directs the implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Evaluates the adequacy of existing processes and procedures, identifies weaknesses, and implements improvements.
  • Responsible for managing the cost accounting staff.
  • Responsible for managing the financial analyst and accounting activities that supports functions of the operations area such as RA/QA, Facilities, Lab Services, Model Shop and IT.
  • Works closely with the accounting and control function of all non-US plants to ensure accounting and report processes follow Terumo BCT accounting and reporting policy.
  • Responsible to maintain consistent and integrated cost accounting and financial reporting processes and procedures between plants.
  • Work closely with the leadership of the financial function to ensure operational issues are clearly highlighted and understood by financial management.
  • Ensure the Cost Accounting function is well integrated with the general accounting activities of the organization.
  • Develops, maintains and monitors manufacturing financial transactions and internal controls to ensure integrity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Terumo BCT accounting procedures.
  • Directs the preparation of special financial/statistical reports and analysis typically of a highly complex nature.
  • Represents the department or company with internal and external customers to resolve problems of a non-routine nature.
  • Analyzes problems and recommends/implements solutions to ensure consistency and accuracy of the manufacturing transactions and product costing.
  • Exercises independent judgment in initiating appropriate financial transactions.
  • Works closely with any and all functions in the organization to ensure development and execution of processes relating to the cost accounting, manufacturing and internal finished goods flows.
  • Oversees the reconciliation, analysis and levels of the world wide inventory levels and ensures management has a clear understanding of the trends and causes of changes in inventory levels.
  • Oversees the preparation of financial information for internal and independent auditors as it pertains to the cost accounting function and related activities and transactions.

  • Leads special cross-functional projects as assigned.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 10 years experience

 

Skills

  • Recognized as an expert in the cost accounting field, and demonstrates technical knowledge of the accounting requirements and practices generated by regulatory or professional outside agencies such as FASB, IASB IRS, and SEC.
  • Also requires a strong understanding and experience in general accounting of broad business transactions and their impacts to the manufacturing operations areas of the organization.
  • Previous management experience in the cost accounting area required.
  • Ability to professionally handle confidential material and associated issues.
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a collaborative team oriented environment.
  • Ability to independently set and accomplish objectives and sets priorities in area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

MBA or CPA preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Target Pay Range:  $114,500.00 to $143,100.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  15.0%
