JOB TITLE: Facilities Generalist
JOB SUMMARY
The Building Operations Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks to ensure the building, grounds, and equipment are well-maintained and operating efficiently. This position serves as the onsite handyman and supports daily facility needs, including preventative maintenance, basic repairs, installations, and coordination with outside vendors as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform general building maintenance including painting, patching, carpentry, and minor plumbing and electrical work
- Troubleshoot and repair doors, locks, lighting, flooring, fixtures, furniture, and other facility components
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards
- Support preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Assemble furniture, equipment, and fixtures as needed
- Maintain exterior areas including sidewalks, entryways, landscaping, and parking lots as assigned
- Assist with office moves, equipment relocation, and event setup or breakdown
- Coordinate with external contracts and vendors for specialized repairs or major projects
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance tools, supplies, and replacement parts
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and building regulations
- Provide general support for site operations
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
High school diploma or GED; trade school or technical certification preferred
Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in general maintenance, facilities operations, or handyman services
Skills
- Basic knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
Target Pay Range: $31.00 to $38.00 - Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
