TEMPORARY EHS ADVISOR

Terumo BCT Ltd - located in Larne - manufactures a range of sterile pharmaceutical solutions for human use.  A vacancy currently exists for a Temporary Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the EHS Manager in delivering the site EHS improvement program.

Duties will include:

  • Support teams in completing/reviewing risk assessment and other hazard identification with departmental teams
  • Assist teams in completing PUWER assessments
  • Manage COSHH database and maintain the site COSHH register
  • Assist teams in completing/reviewing COSHH assessments
  • Drive EHS continual improvement initiatives with cross functional teams
  • Coordinate, manage and deliver H&S related training, (manual handling training, awareness sessions, risk assessment, environmental awareness
  • Responsible for delivering EHS induction to all employees and agency workers throughout the organisation
  • Accident/incident investigation in conjunction with managers/other personnel as necessary.  
  • Carry out EHS audits and inspections for ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Support emergency planning and provision of support role to incidents as they arise and emergency situations
  • Research and specify PPE and other H&S equipment
  • Develop EHS work instructions

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required by your manager from time to time
  • Work as team member with peers and other levels within entire organisation and with external peers

 

Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a EHS role, preferably in a pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, or manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of all current Health and Safety regulations
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or higher
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent knowledge of UK/NI EHS legislation/best practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Adaptable, flexible and able to work with minimum supervision and prioritise tasks
  • Able to build positive relationships at all levels
  • Able to work on own initiative
