Workplace Investigator

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Workplace Investigator is responsible for conducting thorough, impartial, and well-documented investigations into employee complaints, workplace misconduct, and ethics and policy violations across our global life sciences operations.

 

The investigator will work in close partnership with the employment law team, compliance professionals, Human Resources, and other cross-functional teams to ensure investigations are conducted in alignment with legal requirements, internal policies, and best practices.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Conduct prompt, thorough, and objective investigations into allegations of misconduct, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, compliance violations, and other violations of company policy in a neutral, impartial, and independent manner, free from conflicts of interest or undue influence.
  • Partner closely with the employment law team and compliance professionals to scope investigations, assess legal and regulatory considerations, and ensure appropriate investigative approach and documentation.
  • Apply culturally responsive and equity‑aware interviewing techniques, particularly in matters involving harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation involving protected characteristics.
  • Ensure investigations comply with applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations and confidentiality and anti‑retaliation obligations.
  • Travel to and work on-site at Lakewood and/or Littleton facilities, as needed, to conduct interviews, gather evidence, and support investigations.
  • Interview complainants, witnesses, and subjects of investigations; gather, analyze, and assess relevant documentation and evidence.
  • Prepare clear, well-reasoned investigation reports and executive summaries that accurately document findings, credibility assessments, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, HR and other internal stakeholders to support appropriate resolution, risk mitigation, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and sensitivity throughout the investigative process.
  • Track, manage, and document cases using internal investigation and ethics/compliance case management systems.
  • Support the development, refinement, and consistent application of investigation protocols, templates, and training materials.
  • Remain current on employment laws, regulatory requirements, and evolving workplace investigation standards and best practices.
  • Serve as a thought partner to Legal and Compliance and HR leadership on systemic risks, investigative trends, and policy improvements identified through investigations

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS in HR/OD, or related field) strongly preferred.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience conducting complex workplace investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance principles, and investigative methodologies.  Practical knowledge of employment laws related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, leaves of absence, and whistleblower protections.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings clearly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using Convercent, EQS, or similar ethics and compliance case management platforms.
  • Familiarity with global employment practices and cross-border investigations.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance investigation processes.

 

Certifications

  • Workplace investigation certification (e.g., AWI, SHRM, HRCI) preferred

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Location

This is a hybrid role, with the ability to work remotely one to two days per week, and requires regular on-site presence at the Lakewood and/or Littleton locations as business and investigative needs dictate.

 

 

 

Target Pay Range:  $84,700.00 to $105,900.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
