JOB SUMMARY – VP, Operations Strategy and Programs

Supports the organization’s mission, vision and values through setting strategic direction and managing major programs for Operations to reach overall organizational goals while delivering significant margin improvement and other key operational excellence outcomes. Plans, coordinates and directs global cross-functional resources to deliver major project outcomes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Global Project Leadership

  • Directs projects of considerable complexity involving multiple functions and geographies that affect the entire business success of customer service levels, business continuity, and business profitability.
  • Lead operations and cross functional groups for the following key areas:
    • Blood Bag manufacturing optimization in Fuji, Penpol and Vietnam
    • Disposables manufacturing optimization in Costa Rica, Vietnam and Lakewood including key subassemblies
    • Equipment manufacturing strategy development and execution
    • Other emerging manufacturing needs, globally, such regional manufacturing
  • Develop rooftop consolidation or optimization alternatives and execute approved strategies.
  • Assess and anaylyze strategic operational initiaves and their financial viability
  • Develop financial forecasts, goal setting, results tracking and overall impact analyses for global operations.
  • Develop and mentor key team members providing vision, growth opportunities, work direction, performance assessment and feedback, rewards, and coaching to enable effective succession alternatives.
  • Provides insights and guidance to Operations and Company Executive Leadership.

 

Commercial and Strategic Alliance

  • Integrates with and ensures support from operations to each product line management team or business area.
  • Aligns operations requirements and benefits with product line management for optimized cost of product portfolios.
  • Aligns with company strategic planning groups, finance and executive leadership for long range planning in support of business objectives for annual planning and long range planning.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Masters Degree / Bachalor Degree in Engineering

 

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with focus on the medical device manufacturing.
  • Broad knowledge with depth of understanding of manufacturing business related to strategic planning, P&L reporting and impacts, supplier negotiations and legal contracts, capital equipment requirements, production methods and product costing, distribution network planning, procurement and supplier management, product development for manufacturability and quality.
  • Knowledge of key management principles, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources.
  • Previous leadership positions within Operations at major medical device or pharmaceutical corporations.

 

 

Skills

  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytic skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional management without formal reporting relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively and strategically with all levels within company and parent company executives.
  • Understanding of business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of products, markets and competition and demonstrates connection to customers’ needs and patients served.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Requires thorough technical, industry, regional and competitive knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and make effective decisions, even with incomplete information or details.
  • Proficiency with business software applications.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Requirement to travel and work outside normal work hours.

 

International travel, is required.

Target Pay Range:  $222,900.00 to $278,100.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  40.0%
