Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is hiring a Technical Writing Intern to join the Operational Support team within the Global Services department. Global Services is responsible for providing technical support to customers for all our medical devices and related equipment.

We are hiring an intern to assist with updating our medical device manuals used by customers and the internal standard operating procedures followed by our team of field technicians.  

Example projects this intern may work on include:

  • Spectra Optia® Service Manual: Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information and write technical updates
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various product lines
    • Product disposition (what to do with a product after it’s returned from a customer)
    • Global policies for field and bench technicians


Skills and experience this intern will gain:

  • Training with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to gather information and draft technical content
  • Additional skills in engineering/technical writing and work samples for a portfolio
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Innovation & Development departments
  • In-depth knowledge of our product lines
  • Insight into working in a highly regulated industry for a global organization




  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree OR completed bachelor’s degree
    • Preferably in Communications with a focus in Technical Writing
    • Could be pursuing a master’s degree in the same discipline listed above


  • Ability to understand complex engineering and technical topics
  • Experience drafting technical communications
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and meets project deadlines
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and is resourceful in looking for answers before asking others for help


Given our current working operations due to COVID-19, this internship will most likely be a hybrid of onsite and remote work.  Fully remote work is available for candidates outside of the Denver area. Work schedule will be determined by you and the hiring manager. Reduced hours and flexible schedule available for students during school year.

Target Pay Range:  $13.00 to $17.00 -  Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
