JOB TITLE: Sustainability Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

 

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs timely and accurate work on a range of technical and administrative procedures and processes, and other tasks related to the Sustainability Environmental Health & Safety (SEHS) Department. Position involves engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Position requires a high level of sensitivity, diplomacy and tact and the ability to maintain confidentiality of company data.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs varied environmental, health & safety regulatory activities (OSHA 300, 301 reporting, EPA Tier I & II reporting, Audits, Document Control) and ensures tasks are completed in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Identifies trends or problems within the Environmental Health Safety Management System (EHSMS) and helps to resolve them.
  • Maintains environmental, health and safety data and related reports that are accurate and concise.
  • Designs and performs routine analysis of data and report results on an independent basis. 
  • Manages the electronic Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system.
  • Interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including: business area associates, SEHS  vendors,  SEHS consultants and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate as an audit team member in the company’s internal audit program.
  • Assists in the identification, creation, implementation and maintenance of training for environmental, health and safety compliance with EHSMS policies and procedures.
  • Functions as a resource for SEHS Program Coordinators including but not limited to: drafting documents, preparing training materials, implementing routine and defined technical tasks.

 

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned by the SEHS Manager, that are reasonably within the scope of the duties listed above.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental health, or a related discipline is required.

 

Experience

  • Requires at least 1 – 3 years relevant work experience.

 

 

Skills

  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of technical principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to think critically and work within a team environment
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, ISO).
  • Commitment to product quality and continual improvement processes.
  • 5S/6S Methodology
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint).

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Environmental, Health and Safety certifications preferred (ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM).

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

 

Will be required to enter Manufacturing Environment where the requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.

Target Pay Range:  $66,000.00 to $82,500.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
