Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is hiring a Sustainability, Environment & Health Safety Intern to join our Environment & Health Safety department for our Lakewood, Colorado manufacturing facility. This team manages the environmental and health safety of our associates on and off the manufacturing floor, sterilization for medical device disposables, facilities maintenance and services and campus security.

 

Example projects this intern may work on include:

  • Performing field work on the manufacturing floor related to health & safety regulatory activities, including safety investigations and evaluations, on-the-job hazard assessments, waste management, EHS audits and industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Drafting documentation, such as operating procedures and technical reports to be used for compliance, record retention and future audits
  • Identifying trends or opportunities within the Environmental Health Safety Management System (EHSMS)

 

Skills and experience this intern will gain:

  • Tactical, real-world experience in a manufacturing facility for a global organization
  • Opportunity to work with cross-functional teams
  • Training in Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a EHS safety management software, and Windchill Quality Management System
  • Understand how data is used to drive business decisions

 

Internship Details

  • Duration: 3 months (Summer 2021)
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • 100% onsite at our facility in Lakewood, Colorado

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or a related field of study

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Technical writing skills and the ability to write detailed reports
  • Ability to perform data analysis and analyze trends
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

Target Pay Range:  $25.00 to $25.00 -  Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
