Intern Business/Supply Chain Graduate

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Internship program is focused on providing participants with visibility and immersion into several areas of focus.  This approach is intended to provide visibility to different leaders, processes, tools, and products and to provide a more comprehensive view of the Supply Chain function at Terumo BCT.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs planned work to accomplish project goals and provide experience and familiarization with business processes, independent thinking, and company practices and policies.
  • Communicates frequently with co-workers, customer, or vendors to discuss information or issues related to material properties and to clarify or obtain additional detailed information.
  • Assists in developing solutions to routine and non-routine problems of moderate complexity; interprets, executes and recommends modifications to operating policies where appropriate.
  • Assists with analyzing data and produces reports or summaries as necessary within area of expertise.
  • Manage materials, customer service and productivity for given suppliers
  • Analyze excess inventory and suggest action plans
  • Structure and perform analyses and provide recommendations to support supply chain improvements and decision making
  • Periodically participate in team-based brainstorming and decision-making meetings
  • Analyzes material requirements and dispositions excess inventories
  • Works with the Supplier Management business groups, material management team and Procurement teams to ensure on time deliveries, provide status to program and operation teams
  • Projects and analytics

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Some college.

  • Knowledge required to perform at this level is generally acquired by Graduate student pursuing degree in a business discipline.
  • Understanding of supply chain management theory and best practice

 

Experience

No prior experience required

 

Skills

  • Ability to apply general business concepts and processes to support department or company projects.
  • Ability to analyze problems, contribute to decisions, and assist in the design and implementation of solutions to resolve business issues that are moderate in complexity.
  • Able to work closely with all internal departments, Sales and Marketing, Customer Services, the Warehouse, IT and Finance, requiring the need to be a proactive team-player, and be able to build relationships quickly
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Target Pay Range:  $20.00 to $25.00 -  Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
