Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer - Electrical

 

Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is hiring a Supplier Engineer to join our Supplier Engineering team within the Quality department for our Lakewood, Colorado manufacturing facility. This team is responsible for the quality of components and raw materials we receive from suppliers and resolving non-conformance issues that impact our medical device systems.

Our medical devices enable therapies that help patients all over the world. In this role, you’ll have an impact on patients’ lives by helping to ensure the quality of our legacy devices, like the Trima Accel® and Spectra Optia®. From a career growth and development perspective, this is an opportunity to make your mark in our Quality organization through supplier process improvements, reducing costs, and alleviating pain points that negatively affect manufacturing.

Area of concentration includes Cable Harness Assemblies, Circuit Card Assemblies, Sensors, LED Displays and other electronic components.

Example Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports relationships with key suppliers and acts as the Point of Contact for resolution of technical issues and concerns
  • Works cross-functionally and proactively on supplier quality and management activities, including:
    • New supplier qualification, including audits and other assessments of supplier capability
    • Supplier quality performance, including corrective and preventive actions
    • Communication with suppliers to address quality concerns and drive zero defect approach to quality
    • Disposition of nonconforming product
    • Engineering/technical documents such as protocols, reports, specifications, drawings, and vendor provided documents
    • Statistical analysis including process capability, equivalency, and measurement system analysis (i.e. Gage R&R).
  • Project management of process and component changes occurring in partnership with suppliers
  • Implements and understands FDA or regulatory requirements as necessary
  • Follows technical specification requirements and provides feedback on various technical processes and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electromechanical or Computer Science preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with manufacturing processes and a focus on quality
  • Possesses and applies technical engineering knowledge. Must understand the fundamentals of electrical engineering, how components are manufactured, what is manufacturable, etc.
  • Ability to solve technical problems of moderate complexity and address issues through corrective actions
  • Skilled in communicating complicated concepts in a clear, succinct, and simple manner
  • Proactive in asking questions and sharing updates with the team
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Continuous improvement mindset, e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma
  • Project management aptitude

 

Target Pay Range:  $70,800.00 to $88,600.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
