JOB TITLE: Supervisor Equipment Maintenance
JOB SUMMARY
This position works independently to manage and lead equipment maintenance Technicians on across all shifts. The Supervisor is responsible and accountable for: performance and behavior of their team; manufacturing equipment and process performance; communications with other teams/individuals as required; prioritizing and directing activities of their team members; compliance with all health, safety, regulatory (FDA), quality system, and corporate policies and requirements; completing all required corrective and preventive maintenance tasks as required; and supporting the attainment of departmental and company goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Manages and provides leadership for the functional group’s development, direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes and supporting overall business and corporate objectives.
- Updates key stakeholders relative to maintenance activities, equipment status, and action plans as required.
- Models, coaches and provides effective feedback to associates relative to skills, performance, workmanship, and behavior.
- Ensures timely completion of all maintenance work assigned to their team.
- Contributes to process optimization through equipment design improvements, improvements to operating and maintenance procedures, and maintenance activities.
- Assists the team in identifying problems, analyzing causes, and selecting appropriate solutions.
- Drives permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurrent problems regarding downtime, scrap, NCs or performance.
- Continues to develop technical skills and knowledge of self and team (e.g. additional schooling, self-study, online training, and from more knowledgeable team members)
- Maintains a high level of knowledge of the manufacturing technologies, processes and equipment to provide support for all processes and equipment in all areas.
- Develops a sense of urgency within their team to utilizes support systems to minimize downtime.
- Is the point of contact for engineering and other support functions.
- Ensures operations schedules are met within budget through appropriate use of human and technology resources, scheduling, and effective problem solving.
- Manages and directs preventative maintenance tasks to ensure on time completion.
- Creates development plans for associates and provides honest and constructive performance feedback.
- Maintains all data management and entry into CMMS. Understands how it relates and drives KPIs
- Delivers quality training modules to teams, assesses the learning impact, and modifies content/delivery accordingly.
- Performs maintenance activities during times of high workload or absenteeism: advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls and electrical systems; using the PLC to troubleshoot; process validation activities; corrective maintenance tasks; and preventative maintenance tasks.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to procedures for hazardous materials, LOTO, equipment guarding, robotic safety, and biohazard.
- May be required to work on other shifts and or willing to be “on call” as needed.
- Opportunities may exist for domestic/international travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Experience in manufacturing operations environment required; experience in a regulated industry preferred.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, train and mentor other associates.
- Working knowledge of performance reports and how activities in area of responsibility affect them.
- Pro-active approach with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills relevant to cross-functional participation, coordination, and influence, and supporting various levels of the organization including management, and general communication.
- Workmanship meets or exceeds medical manufacturing industry documented and/or generally accepted standards.
- Thorough understanding of and compliance with department policies and procedures.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to work interruptions, changing priorities, and manage a diverse workload.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements & practices.
- Proficient with metric and English measurement systems.
- Ability to read and understand complex mechanical and electrical flowcharts, schematics, and other drawings of a technical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to understand new and “first time worked on” mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and electrical systems.
- Working understanding of programmable logic controllers and using the PLC as a troubleshooting tool.
- Proficient with, and effective use of relevant PC software applications including database and information systems.
- Exceptional prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and navigate through a CMMS system
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Pursue internal qualification on Electrical Safety, RF Welding, and other applicable technical skills per defined timeline.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Manufacturing Environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.
- Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
- Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
- Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors.
- Must be able to work under florescent lighting.
- Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.

Target Pay Range: $85,800.00 to $107,300.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
