Sterilization Tech Shop Manager

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

Accountable for a portion or portions of a sterilization maintenance operations function. Controls area of responsibility to achieve an end result, that supports business goals.  Develops plans and implementation strategies that integrate with such plans and strategies in other areas of the business.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manages and provides leadership for the sterilization maintenance technician development, direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes and supporting overall business and corporate objectives.
  • Develops and directs implementation of plans to achieve the goals of the sterilization facility to support overall business objectives.
  • Ensures operations schedules for corrective maintenance, calibration and scheduled preventative maintenance are met on time, to specification, and within budget through appropriate use of human and technology resources, scheduling, and effective problem solving.
  • Plans and implements organizational changes within area of responsibility.  Recommends changes to other areas that will improve overall effectiveness of the operations and or quality group.
  • Assists the team in identifying problems, analyzing causes, and selecting appropriate solutions for sterilization factory equipment and facilities.
  • Delivers quality training modules to teams, assesses the learning impact, and modifies content/delivery accordingly.
  • Coordinates and is accountable for manufacturing team activities to assure sterilization production schedule adherence.
  • Updates key stakeholders on maintenance activities, sterilization equipment and facilities equipment status and action plans as required.
  • Maintains a high level of understanding of sterilization technologies, processes, and equipment to provide support for all process and equipment in all areas of the facility.
  • Develops a deep understanding of the theory, process, and equipment for EtO sterilization.
  • Maintains all data management and entry ino BMRam and other relevant maintenance and inventory management systems.
  • Performs maintenance activities during times of high workload or absenteeism to include advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and electrical systems. Uses PLCs to troubleshoot, complete proves validation activities, corrective maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate outside contractors to complete corrective maintenance, calibration and scheduled preventative maintenance are met on time, as needed.

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 4 years experience.

 

Skills

  • Requires working knowledge of electrical systems, chillers, boilers, air compressors, vacuum systems, PLCs, building automation systems (BAS), mechanical systems and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Adheres to procedures for hazardous material, LOTO, equipment guarding, robotic safety and EtO handling safety.
  • Will be required to be “on call” as nessassary.
  • Requires demonstrated effective leadership and managerial skills.
  • Requires demonstrated skills in planning, budgeting, and project management directed toward achievement of business goals.
  • Requires moderate to thorough understanding of financial performance reports and their implications.
  • Requires a moderate to thorough understanding of technology and methods applicable to the area and the ability to determine appropriate application.
  • Requires moderate to thorough understanding of quality management techniques and experience in developing quality and productivity goals and measures.
  • Requires strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Requires exceptional prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General Labor Environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range:  $103,900.00 to $129,900.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
