JOB TITLE: Senior Manager, Global Financial Reporting
JOB SUMMARY
Position provides direction and comprehensive leadership in a changing/emerging environment to compile and report consolidated financial results for Terumo BCT and Terumo’s Global Blood Management segment to the parent company, internal management and external parties. The Position also provides direction and leadership with regard to the maintenance, monitoring and enhancements to various financial systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Manage and develop direct reports and staff within Global Financial Reporting team, providing leadership, as well as, the setting of appropriate objectives. To identify gaps in the knowledge of team members and to put in place training systems and processes to ensure the entire team can operate as an effective unit, providing the highest level of support to this post and to its customers.
- Oversees and directs the preparation of consolidated financial statements and submission to the Parent company, as well as related detailed financial and statistical reports and analysis. Terumo BCT consists of approximately 30 legal entities across the globe using multiple foreign currencies.
- Maintain and improve internal and external results reporting, including oversight of changes to the various BPC models and SAP Reports, as well as input to Business Warehouse (BW) Sales Reporting.
- Develops, maintains, and monitors financial systems and processes to ensure integrity in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and Terumo BCT accounting procedures.
- Oversees the preparation of the monthly Performance Analysis Reports sent to the company’s internal management and the parent company, which is the main comprehensive monthly financial report issued by the Finance group.
- Primary financial reporting contact for parent company in Japan. Addresses inquiries by answering or gathering answers and reporting back to the parent company.
- Provides leadership on various reporting projects. Current projects include Project Manager on the Geographic See- Through P&L Project in BPC, and Core Team member of the Customer Centric Initiative Project, with a role as Finance lead on the development of systematic customer P&Ls.
- Monitors global periodic financial close process by judging adherence to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy and publishing a monthly Global Close Process Scorecard.
- Manages external auditors (KPMG) during quarterly reviews and annual audit.
- Oversees the preparation of supporting schedules and analysis for quarterly reviews and annual audit.
- Performs and oversees certain internal controls related to both financial reporting and IT general and application controls (including segregation of duties) to ensure compliance with Japanese internal control requirements (“J-SOX).
- Determines accounting policy and application to discrete events issues, such as business acquisitions and other non-routine events. Provides guidance to global accounting associates on accounting issues resolution and recording of transactions.
- Conducts technical accounting research as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience
- 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in an international organization with specific experience consolidating international subsidiaries with multiple foreign currencies.
- Experience with a consolidation system, such as BPC or Hyperion.
- Experience with SAP ERP system a plus.
- Experience in public accounting viewed favorably, but ideally in combination with industry experience.
Skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of associates and management, including senior leaders at the Executive/Senior Vice President, Vice President and Director levels.
- Self-directed individual with strong motivation and willingness to take initiative.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of accounting standards and practices. Prefer working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), but a strong US GAAP background may by adequate with the right combination of experience.
- Demonstrate leadership including mentoring, educating and training others
- Strong interpersonal skills, team oriented and willingness to learn
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications (including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Power Point) and skills to use them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all organization levels, globally.
- Effective leadership skills with proven ability to lead projects with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects while successfully meeting deadlines, schedule constraints and project objectives.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- CPA preferred, or clear progress toward CPA certification.
- Inactive status of CPA license may be acceptable

Target Pay Range: $140,000.00 to $175,000.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 20.0%
