JOB SUMMARY

 

Plans, leads and executes company internal communications strategy and content, including campaigns, associate events, global awards, community/charitable initiatives and intranet.  Establishes communications strategies, activities and tools utilized to educate, inform and inspire 7,000+ global employee base.  Develops and executes internal communications strategy for global initiatives using multiple channels, including email, video, print, graphics, digital platforms and more. Focus areas include strategy development, campaign planning and execution and collateral development for a range of internal clients.

 

The successful candidate will be a senior member of the Global Corporate Communications team, experienced working with all leadership levels, who understands how to convert communications strategies into measurable business results. The successful candidate will constantly evaluate and recommend how to use the latest applications and technology to amplify messaging and thought leadership to our global associates. The ability to juggle multiple projects, work on tight deadlines and work occasional flex hours is a must.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Plans and implements global internal communications strategies that are aligned with business strategy, key stakeholders, organizational (change) initiatives and global/local requirements 
  • Drives and supports associate engagement strategies
  • Identifies ways to foster connection between our office and manufacturing associates across the globe
  • Partners closely with other communications functions (external, events, brand, marketing) to build and share an aligned and compelling corporate story
  • Develops intranet web strategy & design; ensures content developed is timely, relevant and easily accessible
  • Manages communication channels including intranet, broad audience emails, Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies news videos, articles, associate events (virtual and live) and other emerging technologies
  • Plans, supports and/or leads special events, associate celebrations, global awards, Associate Quarterly Meetings and various town halls meetings
  • Serves as representative of the company at associate events, community activities, special events, and professional associations
  • Develops communication strategies and content designed to fully maximize Human Resources strategy and programs
  • Develops an employer brand and talent acquisition communications strategy in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition team
  • Develop and execute communication strategies that support opportunities for internal and external visibility and engagement of key ESG and DEI initiatives and milestones, working closely with the team to define the types of communication deliverables needed
  • Develops executive talking points, presentations, speeches and other materials to support key organizational messages 
  • Coordinates and supports messaging from and to the parent company, Terumo Corporation and sister companies, for associate and community communications
  • Manages and establishes organizational communications best practices, processes, guides, and templates
  • Working cross-functionally to develop and implement effective crisis and issues management communications in coordination with external communications and business unit communications leads, Government Relations, HR, Legal and Regulatory when needed
  • Supports integration activities resulting from mergers, acquisitions and organizational moves
  • Works closely with key functions of the organization to deliver high quality production of materials, ensure consistency in messaging, image, and corporate style guidelines
  • Set and assess success of communications and programs through metrics
  • Developing and executing communications in support for enterprise-wide change management. Anticipating and delivering proactive communications strategies for key business milestones to reinforce business priorities
  • Manages and provides leadership for the functional team’s development, direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes and supporting overall business and corporate objectives

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Marketing or Communication, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered
  • Master’s degree is preferred

 

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience supporting Internal Communications & HR Programs is preferred
  • Healthcare industry and global working knowledge/experience is preferred
     
    Skills

 

  • Strong business, communications, employee engagement, and change management communications skills
  • Demonstrated success at crafting communications strategy across functions /geographies
  • Experience working directly with and influencing C-suite executives
  • Solve business problems and drive business success with strategic and creative communication campaigns and messaging, strong story-telling and editorial skills
  • Experience translating vision and strategy into actionable goals, priorities, and challenges
  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to quickly assimilate business needs/circumstances and effectively advise and influence senior executives, internal stakeholders and partners on the most strategic, high-level or complex matters
  • Proven ability as a well-organized, detail-oriented manager operating in a fast-changing, demanding environment
  • Plan and create breakthrough executive communications, video scripts, speech writing, presentations, digital content and more
  • Manage multiple project timelines and deliverables
  • Familiarity with the AP Style guide

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Travel required (up to 10%)

 

Target Pay Range:  $120,300.00 to $150,300.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  20.0%
