JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for management and execution of Commercial Finance activities in North America. This position is responsible for the analysis of sales and operating expense performance vs Plan, providing insights into key fundamentals affecting the Commercial organization’s ability to achieve Plans and making proactive recommendations on actions that will improve performance in the Commercial organization. This role oversees the establishment of sales and SG&A Plans for Sales and Regional Marketing functions within North America Commercial and is responsible for monthly forecasting of performance vs Plan. Working closely with the VP – Commercial and Sales and Regional Marketing leaders for North America, this position will identify programs to help drive increased customer sales, develop customer finance programs and structure transactions that meet both the needs of our customers and the internal profitability and risk management objectives of the Company. 

This position will report into the Global Commercial Finance function and will play a key role for close collaboration and alignment in responding to the needs of the North America Commercial organization. This position will provide insights in regional sales, margin and SG&A trends and forecasting, as well as sharing insights and analysis on major regional deals.

The role will ideally provide a level of global leadership through subject matter expertise on certain aspects of Commercial financial management such as business intelligence (BI) reporting and Commercial project cost tracking.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with the North America Regional Finance Leader, connect with Global Commercial Finance Director responsible for developing the financial analyses, reporting tools and customer solutions needed for North America Commercial to meet their Plan objectives.

 

Job responsibilities are summarized by key activities below:

  • Management of all North America based Commercial Finance resources. These resources support both the North America regional activities and global commercial activities.
  • Responsible for in-depth performance analysis and reporting related to all North America based commercial activities in relation to Sales, Margin and Operating Profit performance. Early identification of developing issues and recommendations on proactive strategies to address problems is key
  • Key finance support person for the VP of Commercial Sales in North America as it relates to analysis, development and implementation of programs targeted to improve our sales performance
  • Work closely with the Plasma Innnovations finance business partner to ensure sales forecasting and reporting processes occur consistent with regional practices
  • Prepares or reviews business cases for customer transactions that fall outside standard guidelines. Monitors approval process for major business cases within North America.
  • Responsible for ensuring forecast timeliness and accuracy regarding the Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning (SIOP) for North America based commercial activities.
  • Responsible for working with North America VP of Commercial Sales and her leadership team in the development of the annual Sales and OPEX Plans.
  • Development of improved monthly reports and dashboards which effectively demonstrate the performance of the North America Commercial Operations. Provide global leadership in the development of business intelligence (BI) reporting for the Commercial organization.
  • Trusted Finance business partner, member of the North America Commercial leadership team, offering sound input and advice on a range of tactical and strategic issues impacting the business
  • Partners with North America sales management at customer visits to work directly with Finance representative at customer locations
  • Financial modeling for new business opportunities, customer solutions and other strategic projects as needed
  • Prepares weekly sales forecast updates for submission to Global Commercial Finance Director.
  • Completes in-depth monthly analyses of sales and SG&A variance and provides commentary identifying key performance drivers and risks and opportunities related to future periods.
  • Looks for ways to improve processes internally in North America and synergies with other regions’ commercial activities, including leadership on Commercial project cost tracking through internal orders
  • Master the budgeting and forecast process including variance analysis and reporting to management.
  • Master to strategic planning process for North America (business partner, timelines respected, process roll-out, …)
  • Provide guidance and coaching for direct reports in relevant aspects of their job and professional careers
  • External interface: customers; distributors, consultants
  • Internal interface: CELT / business area departments / sales & marketing organization

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.  MBA is a plus

 

Experience

  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated insight in economic & business concepts and modeling
  • Accounting background is an asset

Target Pay Range:  $142,100.00 to $177,600.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  20.0%
