Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

 

JOB SUMMARY

Position prepares consolidated financial statements; reporting of both monthly and quarterly consolidated financial results to management and to the parent company; and monitoring and enhancements to existing financial systems.  The position also performs internal controls to ensure compliance with Japanese internal control requirements (“J-SOX”).

The position operates in a hybrid work environment and reports to the Senior Manager of Global Financial Reporting.  TBCT global headquarters is in Lakewood, CO USA.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs advanced accounting functions including preparation of global consolidated financial statements of over 30 entities in numerous countries: intercompany, profit in inventory and equity eliminations.
  • Compiles and analyzes results of global regions during the month-end close, makes inquiries to understand results and detect errors through critical review of results.
  • Prepares quarterly IFRS Financial Statements for banks to support debt covenant requirements.
  • Prepares global geographic/product segment see-through reporting, and Plan rate P&Ls involving over 25 different currencies.
  • Performs internal controls related to both financial reporting and IT general and application controls (including segregation of duties) to ensure compliance with Japanese internal control requirements (J-SOX).
  • Assists in managing auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit.  Prepares supporting schedules and analysis for external auditors’ quarterly reviews and annual audit.
  • Develops, maintains, and monitors financial systems to ensure integrity in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and Terumo BCT accounting procedures and making recommendations to process improvements.
  • Analyzes problems and implements solutions to ensure consistency and accuracy of the financial systems.
  • Provides accounting and reporting guidance and problem solutions to global accounting associates.
  • Provide guidance to Financial Systems Business Analyst as requested by Senior Manager of Global Financial Reporting.
  • Prepares other financial/statistical reports and analysis as needed.
  • Conducts technical accounting research as needed.
  • Special projects as needed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.

Experience

  • 5 years of relevant accounting and reporting experience.
  • Experience working in an international organization preferred.
  • Experience consolidating international subsidiaries with multiple foreign currencies preferred.
  • Experience with a consolidation system, such as BPC or Hyperion.
  • Experience with SAP ERP system a plus.
  • Experience in public accounting viewed favorably, but ideally in combination with industry experience.
  • SOX (or Japanese SOX) preferred.

 

Skills

  • Self-directed individual with strong motivation and willingness to take initiative.  Should work independently but accept constructive supervision.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of associates and management.
  • Interpersonal skills, team oriented and willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of accounting standards and practices.  Prefer working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), but a strong US GAAP background may be adequate with the right combination of experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CPA preferred, or progress toward CPA certification.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Target Pay Range:  $90,200.00 to $112,700.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
