JOB TITLE:  Specialist – Blood & Cell Technologies-Great Lakes Region

 

JOB SUMMARY

Working collaboratively with an account manager and without significant management oversight, the Specialist – Blood Technologies conceptualizes, develops, and delivers product/system performance reviews to improve blood center operations, organizes and executes customer focused product usage and optimization training, and provides complex problem-solving services in either a field or headquarters environment. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provides assessment of technical, clinical, and operating processes in the blood center and hospital environment. 
  • Stays current on developments and trends in the blood banking technology business.
  • Performs a needs analysis at the customer’s site to support the implementation of BCT products and services.
  • Provides project management using appropriate tools for effective organization of the implementation process from the pre-sales phase to the on-going post implementation phase.
  • Designs, develops, and delivers clinical or technical training programs to customers and field associates.
  • Provides technical and operational consultation to blood centers and hospitals utilizing the BCT account management process (AMP) during pre-sale, implementation, and post-implementation phases for BCT product lines. 
  • Identifies customer needs and assesses opportunities to deliver value.
  • Assists customer teams in policy, procedure, and protocol development.
  • Documents and provides written solutions to recurring problems.
  • Manages an efficient change process at customer sites.  Prioritizes, determines tasks and resources, schedules, leverages resources, and produces results within the scope of the position.
  • Provides detailed input/feedback to the Product Management Team to recommend changes in product design, manufacturing, quality, or any other aspect of the product or service.
  • Supports development of implementation materials, documentation, and labeling with BCT subject matter experts and product managers including regulatory and validation support tools.
  • Transfer’s knowledge of implementation process to other areas of the company, i.e. sales, marketing, research and development, and others.
  • Conveys information and ideas clearly through a variety of media.  Effectively meets or exceeds customer needs, builds productive customer relationships, and takes responsibility for customer's satisfaction and loyalty with Terumo BCT products and equipment.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners including Account Managers, Field Performance Team, Customer Service, Contract Administration and other businesses (including Therapeutics, Cell Processing when applicable) to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to meeting customer needs.
  • Develops and implements action plans with their assigned AM that align with sales goals to ensure consistent and cohesive support to each of their customers
  • Maintains current knowledge on all products that are assigned including updates in certifications and sign-off training

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 5 years experience

  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff across including but not limited to Sr Business Leadership (C-Suite), medical, technical, and operational staff
  • Demonstrated and effective leadership skills
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Target Pay Range:  $91,100.00 to $113,800.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
