JOB TITLE: Specialist – Apheresis Services (REMOTE - Southeastern U.S. Preferrred Base)



Working independently, the field based clinical specialist designs, develops and delivers customer training and on-site support to new and existing customers.  Supports troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts by acting as a subject matter expert to internal and external customers.



  • Executes effective transfer of knowledge to customers during on-site training.
  • Provides clinical or technical training support to field associates.
  • Identifies and solves complex and/or unusual customer problems.
  • Documents and provides written solutions to recurring problems, including the training of others.
  • Identifies the need for, defines, and develops protocols using Terumo BCT instruments.
  • Assists in clinical trials including design, site selection, training of site participants, and some clinical monitoring.
  • Performs ongoing market assessment of customers' technical needs and problems.
  • Analyzes therapy trends in the marketplace and communicates to necessary departments.
  • Provides detailed input/feedback to Product Management Team to recommend changes in product design, manufacturing, quality, or any other aspect of the product or service.
  • Achieves product training certification for all products available in the supporting geography and functions as a subject matter expert for internal and external customers.
  • Designs and develops training programs and supporting documentation.
  • Supports field sales initiatives by solving complex and/or unusual clinical or technical problems.
  • Participates in new hire mentoring and training.
  • Interacts as a field expert with other functional areas of Terumo BCT to develop a thorough exchange of planning and information.
  • Transfers knowledge of therapeutic apheresis and cell therapy clinical needs and processes to other areas of the company, i.e. sales, marketing, research and development and others.





Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.



Minimum 5 years of relevant technical or clinical experience or

Minimum 5 years of successful clinical support or relevant experience in a field sales or marketing environment.



  • Strong, demonstrated expertise in product and therapy knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to teach.  Demonstrated self-confidence and effectiveness in dealing with a wide variety of student types.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop training programs and documentation.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with customers, physicians, nurses and other technical medical staff.
  • Demonstrated and effective leadership skills.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.



An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.



Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • RN, MT or equivalent
  • A valid Driver’s License is required



  • Extensive travel (50%+).


Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Target Pay Range:  $80,200.00 to $100,300.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
