JOB TITLE: Software Project Manager Staff
JOB SUMMARY
The Software Project Manager serves as a dynamic leader responsible for driving successful software project delivery while facilitating effective development practices across teams. Working closely with the Lead Software Engineer and Software System Engineer, this position bridges technical leadership and project management to deliver high-quality software solutions on schedule and within scope. The Software Project Manager also works closely with the business area project management team to ensure seamless integration of software activities into overall project execution. The role requires balancing tactical iteration execution with strategic project planning while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead the team in iteration planning, including scope definition and commitment setting
- Identify and remove impediments to a project or team’s progress
- Drive daily team status meetings to identify and resolve blockers
- Track and report iteration progress including burndown and missed requirements
- Manage dependencies across iterations (n-1, n, n+1, n+2) and coordinate with dependent teams
- Work with Lead SW Engineer and appropriate team members on backlog refinement and defect management
- Facilitate and manage effort estimation within projects across different levels of backlog items (Features, Epics, Stories, etc.)
- Facilitate iteration demonstrations and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate integration planning and dependencies with Software System Engineer
- Report iteration status and risks to SW Project Lead and program management
- Maintain overall project roadmap aligned with program commitments
- Manage multiple development teams across onshore and offshore locations
- Drive risk mitigation strategies before impact to iteration commitments
- Coordinate status and execution planning with Business rea Platform Project Manager
- Continuously improve effectiveness and efficiencies of a team’s performance and productivity
- Plan and coordinate team execution and deliverables through all phases of Design Control and project life cycle including Software Design Transfer and Software Release activities
- Support teams and projects in the completion of Design Control artifacts and deliverables
- Use metrics and data to measure team’s effectiveness

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Project management professional certifications preferred
Experience
- 5+ years of software project management experience
- Track record of successful project delivery
- Experience managing multiple concurrent software development projects
- Experience working with distributed/offshore teams
- Experience with project management tools and tracking systemse.
Skills
- Expert level understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices
- Strong understanding of FDA Design Controls and QMS processes
- Demonstrated project planning, estimation, and resource management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Strong risk assessment and mitigation skills
- Experience facilitating development team meetings and practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Decision-making skills under pressure
- Ability to understand and communicate technical system features, functionality and dependencies

Agile Scrum Master certification desired
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, traverse, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
Additional Physical Requirements
Hybrid Position requiring 3 days per week in person at the Lakewood, CO Headquarters, and additional days required to perform the role
Target Pay Range: $95,700.00 to $119,600.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
