Position provides technical leadership and expertise in all areas of administration, management, troubleshooting and design of both cloud and on premises server-based hardware, operating systems, and client/server-based applications.  Performs a range of tasks, which include analysis, evaluation, design, scripting, testing, installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of server-based systems. Works cross-functionally to improve and optimize efficiency in the design and development of server-based solutions. Provides information technology mentoring and training to team members and internal customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Operates independently in supporting information technology through activities such as analyzing business/technical needs, designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and documenting information technology solutions.
  • Design, install and configure internal and customer facing servers, network devices and firewalls, ensuring 99.99% uptime.
  • Proactively analyzes technology stack for end-of-life, deprecated and non-supported end points and implements appropriate solutions to ensure reliability and stability.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and escalated operational support for resolving incidents involving storage, server-based hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Administer and support varied technology stacks to include Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Cisco, and Dell
  • Develops and implement technology risk assessments, business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Creates and maintains procedures and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and virtual machines.
  • Design and implement processes for monitoring all datacenter end points, to include improvements on mean time to recover (MTTR) and adhering to specific SLA response time. 
  • Define, document, and implement hardware and operating system security patching procedure to include testing and production promotion process.
  • Ensure all datacenter endpoints are aligned and in compliance with corporate Cybersecurity requirements.
  • Provides technical leadership during incidents (outages), and regular maintenance activities.
  • Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Shares on-call rotation responsibility with team members for 24-hour problem resolution.
  • Ability to work with within a team and provide leadership in the design, deployment, and support of infrastructure systems.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience working in System Administration, preferably in a hybrid cloud environment.

 

Skills

  • Expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise server virtualization (VMWare) in a multiple VM farm configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of network architectures, topology, TCP/IP protocols and configuration.
  • Proficient in LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802.1Q trunks).
  • Implementation and management of Pure storage array.
  • Ability to design, implement and manage DNS configuration on both Windows and Linux operating systems for complex resolution requirements.
  • Heavy experience in designing and implementing appropriate end-point redundancy along with formalized backup and recovery solutions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and optimizing current datacenter infrastructure in an effort to align with technology best practices.
  • Ability to build complete project plans, including detailed task assessment, resource recommendations, dependency analysis and implementation per plan.
  • Knowledge of one or more industry standard scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.) and the ability to leverage that knowledge in developing customized scripting solutions.
  • Hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure, primarily with Microsoft Azure.
  • Highly skilled in implementing Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform, Ansible or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Hands-on experience deploying Docker containers, Kubernetes clusters in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to identify, research, and resolve simple to complex technical issues independently.
  • Solid experience in the administration of Linux, Windows Server, and Windows client operating systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current Microsoft Systems Engineering certificate preferred.
  • VMWare Certified Professional, Data Center Virtualization preferred.
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or Microsoft Azure Administrator preferred.

Additional Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work non-standard hours, including maintenance weekends (on average once per month).

 

Target Pay Range:  $93,300.00 to $116,600.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
