Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

We are hiring a Senior Test Engineer to lead validation and QA initiatives for a brand-new platform on a next generation device. The ideal candidate is experienced in both testing and development in order to write code in which to test, when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test plans, procedures, and scripts (manual and automated) based on system and software requirements
  • Write tests cases from specifications and user stories
  • Execute tests and resolve issues
  • Report on testing activities
  • Mentor other QAs in the organization

Day in the Life:

  1. Start your day at a daily stand-up for quick status updates.
  2. Login to the Team Foundation Server (TFS) and select a task to troubleshoot.
  3. Review your test requirement and approach with a Software Systems Engineer.
  4. Write the test code and circulate for feedback and approval.
  5. Execute test cases to find bugs, flaws, and errors to achieve 100% function and adherence to the requirements.
  6. Work with a technology stack that includes Redis, Yocto Project, WebSocket, Angular, and QuickType.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing and programming/developing
    • Ability t write unit tests to test code
  • C++ or other object-oriented programming language (C#, Python, etc.)
  • Familiar with testing plans, automated test scripts, processes, and protocols
  • Effective communicator who is proactive in asking questions and takes initiative in finding solutions
  • Collaborative team player who is comfortable interacting frequently with other roles

Preferred Experience, but Not Required:

  • Test automation
  • Embedded systems
  • HPLM and Cucumber testing tools
  • Linux
