This role is part of the Global Supply Chain Organization and is responsible for driving best practices, process optimization, innovation, and continuous improvement across the global procurement organization. This role will lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies, policies, and tools to enable world-class performance, ensure compliance, and maximize value delivery. The Strategy & Excellence leader will serve as a thought leader, change agent, and key business partner, collaborating with category managers and sourcing teams, and stakeholders across the enterprise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute the Procurement programs and roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish and maintain procurement policies, standards, and procedures.
- Develop, monitor and report on procurement performance metrics and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Process Excellence & Innovation
- Lead process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, cost savings, risk mitigation and other key priorities.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement procurement technologies and digital solutions.
- Develop and maintain best practice toolkits, templates, and playbooks.
- Capability Building & Change Management
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance procurement skills and knowledge.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and market intelligence.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Partner with business units, category teams, and suppliers to support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address procurement challenges and opportunities.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external audits related to procurement.
- Talent Management
- Mentor and develop procurement professionals within the Strategy & Excellence Team and broader sourcing organization.
- Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and succession planning for procurement Strategy & Excellence roles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Supply Chain Management or like); MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain Management or Engineering desirable.
Experience
8 years’ of diversified procurement, sourcing, supply chain management or operational experience in business, technical, and managerial functions. Preference for COE leadership.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, category management, and supplier relationship management.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications (SAP, Power BI, Ariba, etc) and skills to use them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Highly self-motivated team player who can work effectively with management, business unit personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.
- Proven leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to influence others.
- Effective project management skills.
- Experience in planning and executing processes.
- Solid negotiation skills and Contract management.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking skills and the demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
- Knowledge of internal Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies (TBCT) organizations, structure, and key players preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- APICS and/or CPSM certification or willingness to work towards same.

LOCATION
Lakewood, Colorado or Remote
TRAVEL
- US and International travel will be required at < 30%.
- There will be an occasional requirement to work outside of normal business hours, consistent with other global positions.

Target Pay Range: $149,800.00 to $187,200.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 20.0%
