JOB TITLE:  Senior Manager, Global Market Development  - Cell Therapy Technologies

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Market Development Manager will facilitate market strategy and lead business relationships with key global CTT customers in biotech, pharma and CMO space.  This position will coordinate the strategic CTT direction through market knowledge and customer connections.  The role will coordinate efforts for overall strategic plan, market research and assessments.  This individual will maintain and develop strategic relationships, enhancing corporate relationships and business with prioritized clients throughfocus on moving up the value chain at strategic accounts.  Setting-up a framework and leading through peer-to-peer relationships across functions is a key success factor for the role 

The position reports into the Director, Global Commercial Lead, Cell Therapy Technologies

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develops a strategic plan and directs others in the development and execution of strategy via market assessments and marketing research, development and delivery of effective product mix, sales tools, value analysis, pricing, and problem resolution
  • Develops and executes an integrated global account plan, including pricing strategy, utilization and growth plan for global CTT customers and partners.
  • Understands customers' business objectives, strategies and requirements; identifying innovative solutions to meet account needs.
  • Lead in a matrix structure by:
    • Coordinating with current commercial teams that deal on the field with customers. Lead through influencing within a multi-cultural environment.
    • Coordinating/facilitating the involvement of other cross-functional teams (ie. Quality, Operations, etc) as required to manage a successful account relationship.
  • Negotiate mindfully when dealing with highly nuanced client relationships (which could at the same time include customer / partners / competitors / suppliers) within a Global context.
  • Builds business relationships with key global account executives and stakeholers including supply chain, market access, commercial strategy, manufacturing, process science, C-suite and other key influencers.
  • Sets direction and coordinates with the regional stakeholders on implementation of tactical plans, business/contracting strategies, associated plans and results.
  • Participates in sales management forums, partnering to develop sales strategies and goals.
  • Collaborates with business development, technology leader, and product manager (as needed) regarding strategic tool collaborations
  • Have ongoing and significant contact responsibility with customers in the field, representatives of professional organizations with whom the business is affiliated, and professional/management levels within the business.
  • Participates/leads strategy in market development activities with scientific strategy and technology development teams
  • Evaluates portfolio and product related communication, documentation programs, and support tools for effectiveness through objective market research, customer, and sales force feedback.

 

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.  Advanced degree in Life Science is preferred.  MBA preferred.  

 

Experience

Minimum of eight years of experience, preferably in the area of sales and/or marketing.  Greater than 5 years experience working with pharma and biotech customers requiredCell therapy experience preferred.  GMP experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated understanding of sales strategies and philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage competing priorities associated with the business.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, problem-solving, change management skills and ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Additional Physical Requirements

Travels requirements - 60% which includes domestic and international meetings, customer visits, conferences etc as directed by manager.

 

Target Pay Range:  $145,000 to $182,000  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  20.0%
