Senior Applications Manager, SAP ERP
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall leadership of an Applications Group, within Digital Transformation (DX), and the functions and associates who operate within the group. Position provides leadership, vision, strategic direction, enterprise architecture and day to day management and is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the function and its relationship within the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Leadership of functional group development, direction and effectiveness by providing manager and supervisors with the tools and support to manage daily operations.
- Guidance and coaching for individuals in relevant aspects of their jobs and professional careers with continuous development toward actual expectations and staff interpersonal development in the values and behavior principles of Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies.
- Effectively manage defined set of business applications to ensure performance according to business needs and DX standards, upgrades, performance, functionality enhancements, security, validation and general maintenance.
- Manage application portfolio related to ERP that may include internally developed and third party software applications.
- Drives digital transformation aligned with strategic business partners on our ERP platform.
- Review and approve application designs, integrations, custom developments and technical solutions.
- Monitor to ensure team has appropriate direction and resources to deliver projects on schedule with high quality and within budget.
- Participates and promotes team member participation on cross functional and/or inter-organizational teams. Frequently leads such teams or task groups especially when the scope is broad and/or the issue complex.
- Defines and implement policies, processes and procedures for operations ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Participates in strategy and long range planning processes within areas of responsibility in support of business and DX strategies.
- Accountable for iterations and annual updates to the strategic plans.
- Dedicated to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs.
- Continual analysis of changing business and customer needs and planning organizational or system changes to address needs.
- Recommends changes to other areas that will improve overall effectiveness of operations.
- Maintains constructive relationships with customers and business entities served and ensures such relationships exist throughout the organization.
- Troubleshoots problems and develops bridge-building solutions that improve client relationships.
- Understands business processes and designs solutions that foremost address the business problem.
- Promotes Project Management methodology (Agile and Waterfall) and techniques providing structure and guidance to others to reach established goals.
- Champions Service Management tools and processes ensuring appropriate implementation and utilization providing significant improvement in IT performance.
- Execute successfully the annual initiatives outlined by the business and DX reflected in the Critical Commitments and Strategic Plan.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Experience
Minimum 12+ years experience
- Requires 7 years of IT management experience in areas of responsibility and in similar roles (broad based, mid-level) within a comparably sized or larger company.
- International experience, supporting and working with World Wide organizations is preferred.
- Experience in vendor relations and negotiations.
- Deep knowledge of SAP ERP platforms (S/4 preferred), integrations and reporting in a regulated GxP environment.
Skills
- Proactively and effectively communicates and collaborates with key stakeholders to address ERP needs and requirements across TBCT on a global scale.
- Collaborates with product owners to drive enhancements to the ERP platforms adding value and minimizing customizations leading to technical debt.
- Strong technical capabilities to foresee future constraints when designing architectural changes to our landscape (internal and external).
- Ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, collect information and drive decisions effectively enabling projects to move forward meeting business goals.
- Skilled at aligning organization and business goals, with success driving and managing organizational change.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business processes and design solutions that foremost address the business problem.
- Requires in-depth understanding of technology and IT tools and methods applicable to the ERP applications area.
- Demonstrated success in leading large, complex ERP related projects within budget and meeting deadlines.
- Proven leadership and managerial abilities demonstrated by developing, coaching, and training others in an organizational setting.
- Ability to interact with diplomacy and tact across all levels of leadership while maintaining appropriate attention to end goal.
- Strong proven background in developing and maintaining effective internal IT processes.
- Experience in vendor relations and negotiations.
- Good understanding of basic accounting and financial principles.
- Demonstrated success with selection, management, motivation, education, and evaluation of others.
- Business plan development and implementation skills that clearly define strategic direction for cross functional areas within the company.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Target Pay Range: $160,500.00 to $200,600.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 20.0%
