Performs timely and accurate technical work following routine or specialized procedures for the receiving, processing and shipment of Bovine Blood, and also assists in system development associated with Automated Collections utilizing Bovine and donor blood / blood components. As well as additional related tasks in the laboratories or manufacturing environments in compliance with the Company and external regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performs a range of standardized / routine and special procedures to accommodate the Bovine Blood Process. Duties include receiving / verification of incoming Bovine orders, filling bags per ordered specification (may include HCT adjusting of the incoming Bovine by means of TRIMA or other procedure), preparation / packaging of orders for shipment, and assuring all orders are processed as per specified delivery date / time.
- Operates cell analyzers, scales, pumps and other related laboratory tools and equipment as required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment associated with the bovine process and assists in monitoring appropriate calibration, repair, and maintenance as required.
- Cleans / disinfects all tools / work areas and disposes of all biohazard materials / substances.
- Provides work direction for less experienced personnel in areas such as protocol / procedures training and equipment use.
- Assists in the management of inventory required to perform necessary tasks.
- Maintains, accurately follows, and records protocols / procedures, laboratory quality records / documentation, and test logs as required.
- Organizes / sets up test beds according to engineering instruction, may include set modification for use.
- Performs tests / procedures under engineering instruction to support a variety of system development projects including reliability, and software design / verification.
- Downloads data log files utilizing FTP Pro.
- Upgrades / downgrades software version as per engineering instruction.
- Prepares /analyzes samples of blood / blood components acquired from research projects / procedures.
- Assists with data entry and analysis of test results.
- Assists in development of protocols, methods and procedures necessary to perform development projects.
- Assists in the archival of design records including scanning documents.
- Performs technical, administrative and logistical responsibilities to identify work area needs.
- Identifies standards and trends or problems and helps to resolve them.
- Provides, writes or updates required documentation as necessary.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties listed above.
- Maintains required training necessary for laboratory / manufacturing processes and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High school diploma or GED. Some college preferred.
- Equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience.
- Experience working in a regulated industry required. Experience with aseptic technique or other laboratory experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated good working knowledge of technical principles in assigned areas.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply guidelines.
- Demonstrated good working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of products and product assembly.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range: $21.00 to $27.00 - Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
