JOB TITLE: Scientific Lab Technician I
JOB SUMMARY
Lab Technicians perform timely and accurate work on a range of standard product testing. The Technicians are responsible for following aseptic technique as they process samples in compliance with company procedures as well as regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures. They work as part of a team to maintain a clean and organized lab by keeping paper documents GDP compliant, cleaning lab equipment, maintaining lab tools/supplies, and monitoring lab data outputs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performs a range of standardized/routine and somewhat special testing procedures.
- Identifies standard trends or problems and helps to resolve them.
- Executes protocols and procedures with possible exposure to known or potentially infectious agents.
- Performs confirmation and population counts on biological indicators.
- Maintains, accurately follows, and records protocols/procedures, laboratory quality records/documentation, and test logs.
- Operates standard laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pH meter, and pipettes).
- Toxicology Laboratory: Performs in vitro studies on new and existing products, performs cell line maintenance, possess a basic understanding and analysis of blood and blood components, and have ability to analyze blood samples using commercially available blood cell counting instruments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree Preferred
- Some college or equivalent training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered in one of the following lab sciences areas: math, chemistry, metrology, biology, physics, hematology, physiology, anatomy or related sciences.
Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of college education and experience.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with general direction.
- Ability to perform instrumental and classical methods of chemical analyses.
- Knowledge of laboratory supplies, maintenance, and calibration of equipment.
- Organizes and manages media preparation and washes autoclaves glassware and utensils for microbiology section.
- Strong working knowledge of technical principles in assigned areas and also statistical operations and analysis.
- Aptitude to understand and apply guidelines.
- Ability to follow regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications, such as Excel and Microsoft Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Apply Good Documentation Practices on controlled records.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
General Labor Environment requirement includes: use of personal protective equipment (PPE), reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range: $42,000.00 to $52,500.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
