Principal Configuration Analyst – SAP Order-to-Cash (OTC) & Document Reporting and Compliance (DRC)

JOB SUMMARY

This role provides deep functional and configuration leadership for the SAP Sales and Distribution (SD/OTC) environment and SAP Document Reporting and Compliance (DRC) operating within an SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud environment, supporting globally distributed sales, distribution, and statutory compliance operations.

The position is responsible for designing, stabilizing, optimizing, and governing end-to-end order processing, billing, and statutory document reporting using SAP S/4HANA-native capabilities as the system of record, while ensuring compliant electronic invoicing, local government reporting, and audit readiness across applicable countries.

The Principal Configuration Analyst serves as a bridge between Commercial Operations, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Integration, and IT Architecture, ensuring SAP OTC and DRC solutions align with S/4HANA Private Cloud constraints, regulatory mandates, and long-term enterprise architecture standards in regulated and SOX/JSOX-compliant environments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash (OTC / SD) – Business Execution & Governance

  • Own and enhance SAP S/4HANA OTC configuration as the authoritative system for order management, pricing, billing, and downstream financial integration.
  • Support standardized global OTC processes across sales, distribution, intercompany, and customer fulfillment scenarios.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations, Finance, and Customer Operations to resolve order and billing execution issues while maintaining stable and controlled business operations.
  • Validate OTC processes against business, financial, and regulatory requirements, recommending configuration or process changes where SAP standard provides improved governance and control.

 

SAP Document Reporting and Compliance (DRC) – Statutory & Local Government Reporting

  • Design, configure, and support SAP Document Reporting and Compliance (DRC) to meet complex local government reporting, clearance, and statutory finalization requirements.
  • Support electronic invoicing, legal numbering, document clearance, government submissions, and statutory reporting using S/4HANA-native compliance frameworks and approved integrations.
  • With close partnership with internal tax authorities, support required changes to evolving statutory mandates, translating requirements into sustainable SAP DRC configuration and solution designs.
  • As a DRC subject-matter expert, support internal tax departments during audits, regulatory inquiries, and compliance-driven production incidents.

 

OTC & DRC Cross-Domain Dependencies

  • Govern the end-to-end dependency between OTC billing processes and DRC statutory document generation, submission, and reporting.
  • Ensure data consistency across pricing, tax determination, billing, and statutory reporting artifacts to support auditability and traceability.
  • Coordinate closely with Finance, Tax, Integration teams, and external compliance partners to maintain compliant order-to-report execution across regions.

 

Solution Design, Validation, and Delivery

  • Lead functional analysis and solution design within SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud constraints, promoting SAP standard capabilities and minimizing non-standard customizations.
  • Develop and execute test strategies, scenarios, and scripts supporting GxP / GAMP 5 validation for OTC and statutory reporting processes.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including functional specifications, configuration rationale, validation artifacts, and architectural decisions.
  • Serve as a functional lead for OTC and DRC enhancements, optimization initiatives, and global template designs.

 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Facilitate global design workshops with Business stakeholders, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Integration teams, and external vendors.
  • Mentor analysts and contribute to global SAP OTC and DRC configuration standards and governance models.
  • Participate in shared on-call and critical incident response to support business continuity.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience

  • 10+ years of SAP logistics experience, including deep hands‑on expertise with SAP S/4HANA supporting the SAP SD module with experience support standard order processing as well as scheduled agreements, contracts, and e-Invoicing specific to DRC.
  • Experience delivering solutions within SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud (RISE) constraints.
  • Experience contributing to or leading SAP transformation, optimization, or global template initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agile or SAFe delivery models.
  • Proficient writing user and functional requirements, function specifications and associated test cases to support validation
  • Background in regulated manufacturing or distribution environments (medical device, life sciences, or similar).

 

Skills

  • Experience with:
    • Multi‑leg, multi‑modal, and cross‑border transportation scenarios
    • Carrier collaboration and freight tendering automation
    • High‑volume 3PL integration landscapes
  • Familiarity with integrated process with external 3PL warehouses.
  • Understanding of international trade, export controls, and compliance‑adjacent transportation processes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Target Pay Range:  $126,600.00 to $158,300.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
