This person will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing procurement strategies and strategic sourcing activities for the Lakewood, CO plant. Drives total overall procurement cost down while continuously improving the company’s purchasing practices, processes, and systems. Manages supply base with significant supplier spend while implementing measures to mitigate supply risks. Manages all aspects of procurement execution for a team of five (5) Buyers/Sr. Buyers. Champions systematic and process improvements through our procurement standard work process. Key leadership position within the plant responsible for procurement strategy, system optimization, procurement process execution, metrics reporting, regulatory compliance, and training and development.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Contribute to the development of long-range procurement strategies while designing and aligning procurement processes and policies within business requirements.
  • Utilize lean principles for standard work to improve the efficiency and communication within the Procurement Department.
  • Develop KPIs for the department that clearly show the effectiveness of our procurement strategy and Buyer performance.
  • Identify root cause issues and aggressively drive to process improvements across the organization.
  • Perform data analysis and the ability to convert that into effective summaries, presentations, trainings, and KPIs.
  • Lead efforts and provide work direction to the Procurement Team for process improvements in SAP and Lean DNA.
  • Effective shortage management and collaboration with Category Management and Plant Management.
  • Responsible for minimizing cost and maximizing value in the procurement process by applying leading practices for purchasing execution, driving supplier rationalization strategies, process improvements, and shortage/risk management.
  • Provide work direction, leadership, and oversight of procurement, and cross functional teams for assigned projects.
  • Drive supplier rationalization strategies including supplier management processes (scorecards, annual supplier performance reviews, etc.).
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with policies and programs in alignment with sourcing strategy; and that appropriate audit trails are embedded in procurement programs, for internal audit and performance management purposes.
  • Participate in processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and other activities to meet business expectations and requirements as required.
  • Makes recommendations as to operating policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to drive change in a fast-paced manufacturing environment across multiple departments for improved results.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procurement, Planning, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Strong background in manufacturing, procurement ERP systems, data analysis, process development/standardization, and sourcing preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Highly self-motivated team player who can work with management, business unit personnel, external suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.

  • Experience in planning and executing processes.
  • Solid negotiation and supply contract skills.

  • Demonstrated and effective leadership skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office products and SharePoint.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • APICS certification or willingness to work towards same.
  • CPM certification or willingness to work towards same.
  • Certified professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) certification or willingness to work towards same.

Target Pay Range:  $96,500.00 to $120,600.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
