JOB TITLE:  Project Manager - Localization (REMOTE - Temporary position)

 

JOB SUMMARY

Works with minimal supervision to create, manage, coordinate, and successfully execute plans to complete documentation localization projects in support of business and technical initiatives. Adheres to Terumo BCT practices for project governance. Communicates important milestones and achievements as well as risks as these relate to projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manages localization projects from beginning to end, working closely with external localization service providers, internal project teams and business partners
  • Analyzes localization scope in computer aided translation tool to establish cost and time estimates as needed
  • Gathers necessary project materials
  • Leads project meetings and conference calls, including project kick-off meetings, weekly and ad-hoc meetings, and post project reviews as needed, while ensuring meetings are recorded and minutes distributed to stakeholders
  • Creates and controls localization project budgets, tracks cost, and ensures timely issuance of purchase orders and invoices
  • Creates project schedules and proactively communicates milestone dates to project team members and stakeholders
  • Assists Localization Manager in creating annual localization budgets; regularly meets with global marketing teams to review progress against established project lists and budgets
  • Partners with in-country reviewers (ICRs) to ensure effective and efficient execution of the ICR process
  • Identifies and works with stakeholders to solve project issues or disagreements, identifies causes and corrective/preventative actions as needed; works to resolve and/or escalate to functional management, any deviations (or potential deviations) from plan
  • Ensures proper assignment and coordination of resources per plan
  • Tracks and reports status and metrics on the project delivery and value
  • Manages content within a content management system and provides suggestions for improvements when relevant
  • Participates as a member of a project team. Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members
  • Raises awareness of localization best practices through knowledge sharing and coaching of new and entry level PMs as well as of other functions within Terumo
  • Continually expands knowledge in localization industry and Terumo BCT standards and best practices through active participation in training opportunities
     

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

 Experience:  

Minimum 4 years of experience related to project management including a minimum of 2 years of experience in the localization industry.

  • Experience as a localization project manager preferred

 

Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management disciplines, methodologies, and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage multiple projects and project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain frequent communications and interactions with language service providers including selection, specification of projects, negotiation, and quality checks
  • Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Dedicated to customer service, with proactive response to stakeholder needs
  • Ability to integrate subject matter expert input to develop project plans
  • Ability to identify conflicts and either resolve or quickly escalate for resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
  • Self-starter and pro-active
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Knowledge and interest in continuing to learn and identify new technologies and new tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Trados Studio preferred
  • Experience working with content management systems such as Astoria preferred
  • Proficiency in a second language preferred
  • Experience working with project lifecycle systems (PLM) preferred.

Target Pay Range:  $74,000 to $92,000 - Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  0.0
