Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is hiring a Senior Product Owner to join our Software Systems Engineering team within the Innovation & Development department at our global headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado.

Software is at the heart of everything we do. It enables our medical devices to function — from changing disposable kits to running procedures — so that we can safely and effectively provide therapies and treatments to patients in need. Opportunity to Define the Software of a New Product

  • Lead software enhancements projects for next generation Quantum® Cell Expansion System
  • Join during the beginning stages of the software development lifecycle for a new product
    • Conduct feasibility planning and develop clear, concise requirements for embedded medical device software
    • Translate users’ needs, commercial desires, regulatory and technical standards into use cases, workflows, user stories and UI mockups
    • Solve challenging software design problems for embedded medical devices that impact patients
  • Establish and maintain alignment with the product/platform roadmap, providing vision and direction to the Scrum team and defining/owning the product backlog
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, regulatory, quality assurance, scientific affairs and engineering to determine required functionality and end user experience
  • Collaborate closely with global offshore teams in India 
  • Option for a hybrid work-environment (combination of onsite & remote work)

 

 Skills & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to perform essential functions of the job
    • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math degrees preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on large, complex projects and demonstrated leadership in software development projects
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude, especially as it relates to the software development lifecycle (e.g. environment, requirements, testing)
    • Experience with embedded Linux helpful, but not required
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentations, visualizations) with the ability to:
    • Facilitate meetings, keep conversations focused and generate ideas among software teams
    • Adapt communication style and delivery for global colleagues
    • Provide explicit direction and confirm team’s understanding of project deliverables, course correcting when necessary
    • Understand the goals of the end user and translate customer needs to technical requirements the software developments teams can understand. Vice versa: convey complicated technical concepts to customers in a clear, simple, and succinct manner.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and keen attention to detail

Target Pay Range:  $89,000.00 to $111,300.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
