Privacy & Compliance Analyst



Working under supervision, the privacy analyst, will assess business policies, procedures, and operations to ensure Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies meets privacy requirements and government regulations for the protection of critical information. The responsibilities not only include analysis but also creating strategies for improvement. The responsibilities may involve providing training or educational materials for associates so they can better manage privacy protection and mitigate risks related to the unauthorized access of sensitive information.



  • Collaborate with business units to identify solutions to minimize data privacy risks and communicates the company's position on data privacy to key stakeholders.
  • Develop business unit-specific data privacy guidelines.
  • Document data privacy legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage regular review of company data privacy policies and procedures and recommends improvements.
  • Provide support for data inventories and maps.
  • Assist in conducting data privacy risk and impact assessments.
  • Support the manager in development and documentation of program metrics.
  • Support the management of inquiry requests, and incident and breach management.
  • Collaborate with the cyber security team on a variety of overlapping initiatives and responsibilities.
  • Assist in the development of annual data privacy training materials and business unit specific training and manages employee compliance with required training.
  • Develop presentation materials for executive committees and department meetings.
  • Initiate, develop, maintain and revise processes for the general operations of the Information Security team and its related activities.
  • Assist and support ongoing records management program planning and implementation activities.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Third party data management privacy governance and other enterprise privacy governance responsibilities initiatives
  • Support operational policies and standards for privacy governance programs.





Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.



Minimum 5 years experience

  • Prefer experience in Information Systems.



  • 5 years of relevant experience; or combination of education and/or experience
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations including but not limited to HIPAA, State privacy laws, and GDPR.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Research, problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
  • Experience in information technology or comparable experience working as a business partner with information technology professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to support all phases of the delivery life cycle, including defining requirements, design, development, testing and deployment
  • CDPSE or equivant is preferred
  • SAFe/Agile experience is a plus


An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.



Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Additional Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work non-standard hours and travel to Terumo BCT’s various locations.





Target Pay Range:  $85,500.00 to $106,800.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
