Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is hiring a Senior Packaging Engineer to join our Innovation & Development department at our global headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado. The packaging team handles all aspects of planning, development, test and verification throughout the entire product lifecycle. Working closely with cross-functional partners in marketing, regulatory, operations and field services, this team ensures patient safety and delivers on corporate goals.

Example Projects You Would Support:


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical device packaging development (e.g., thermoformed trays, Tyvek lidstocks, flexible pouches, labeling, form-fill-seal, flow wrap, testing, automation, etc.)
    • Qualifies new packaging from concept to commercialization
    • Identifies cost saving opportunities in packaging
    • Knowledgeable on packaging standards and how best to apply them
    • Effectively presents complex technical information to engineering staff and management
    • Collaborates with external suppliers to develop optimal packaging designs and/or components
  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering highly desired
  • Acute ability to design sterile barrier packaging systems that meet the requirements of ISO 11607
  • Experience with Ethylene Oxide and Steam sterilization processes
  • In-depth knowledge of materials used for medical device packaging
  • Proven independent technical team leader, including project management, coordination with cross-functional teams, and supporting junior engineers and technicians
  • Leadership skills in the form of empowering others to make creative and reasoned decisions which result in successful outcomes
  • Working knowledge of CAD (we use SolidWorks)
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management software (we use Windchill)

Target Pay Range:  $87,800.00 to $109,800.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
