JOB TITLE: Operational Excellence Site Engineer

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Operational Excellence Site Engineer is responsible for facilitating and coordinating continuous improvement initiatives at the site level and reports to the OpEX Site Lead. This role plays a pivotal part in driving operational efficiency, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborates with cross-functional teams primarily at a local level, to create and revise processes and systems, and monitor progress towards the global OpEx strategy.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Collaborates with department heads and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational improvement.  Coordinates the implementation of Lean Six Sigma projects to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of Operational Excellence by providing proper training and standardizing procedures, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, agile and any other required methodologies.
  • Develop strategies, systems, and tools to drive cost, customer service, and associate satisfaction to World-Class levels.
  • Analyzes operational data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and key performance indicators (KPIs).  Prepares regular reports on the progress and impact of operational excellence initiatives. Lean Thinker that drives the culture with a mindset of Continuous Improvement.
  • Leads and facilitate cross-functional improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.  Collaborates with project teams to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.
  • Implements change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes and methodologies.  Work closely with teams to address challenges and obstacles related to change initiatives.
  • Identify areas of improvement to deliver a robust and cost-effective end-to-end process through constant continuous improvement initiatives and mindset.
  • Provide Best Practices to other global manufacturing sites to share and learn within the network.
  • Serves as a local subject matter expert to ensure visibility to local strategies to help standardize this work across the global.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May work with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing and regulatory compliance issues.
  • May involve limited travel to other manufacturing plants.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered
  • Training or Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or other Continuous Improvement training preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as process, industrial, manufacturing engineer, or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years of GMP and medical devices environment.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and, problem solving methodologies.
  • Experience participating or leading OpEx efforts to drive Continuous Improvements.

 

Other Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering measurable results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and public speaking skills.
  • Proven experience in coordinating operational excellence initiatives in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Change management experience to support the implementation of new ways of thinking.
  • Ability to manage time effectively within compressed timelines.
  • Ability to travel internationally, as required.
  • Strong level of persuasion and influencing skills.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General Labor Environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range:  $101,800.00 to $127,300.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
