JOB TITLE: Market Access & Health Economics Specialist

 

JOB SUMMARY

To continue our growth within the therapeutic apheresis, cell technology and whole blood automation environments, Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies has an exciting role on our North America team for a Market Access & Health Economics Specialist.  In this role you will contribute to our projects with a focus on running strategy reviews, health economic publication, preparing payer education, building market access landscapes, assessment of reimbursement structures, value dossier development, business case creation, and education of the commercial organization.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with the regional market access teams, codevelop reimbursement pathways and strategies for the country.
  • Actively engage in health economic data collection, this includes meeting with customers using Terumo BCT technology and setting up systems to collect data related to patient outcomes, quality of life and health resource utilization.
  • Run analysis on health economic data sets and translate into abstracts, posters, publications, payer education documents and commercial tool.
  • For new product development and clinical indications, assess the market access and reimbursement pathways.
  • Keep on par with payer policy and identify opportunities for business growth and market access activities.
  • Identify opportunities for health data collection and health economic value demonstration together with the local stakeholders and the commercial organization.
  • Develop a regional value story and value dossier to support reimbursement requests.
  • Run strategic analysis in partnership with global or regional partners related to our enterprise development activities.
  • Works cross-functionally with direct peers from medical affairs, marketing and clinical sales to enhance patient access.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Knowledge required to perform at this level is generally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience or above.
  • Post-graduate training in market access, health policy, or health outcomes/economics is an asset.

 

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical device industry. Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
  • Experience running advance analytics is favored either in a professional environment or during education.
  • Experience consulting and executing on health outcomes projects from inception to publication is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical software, like STATA or SPSS, is an asset.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Target Pay Range:  $83,600.00 to $104,500.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
