Position is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the learning needs of the business. Develops materials that deliver exceptional learning experiences with an emphasis on learning transfer. Supports learners including our associates, external customers, and distributor partners. Designs for various training delivery methods with the strongest focus on the creation of interactive and engaging online curriculum.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Applies the 6Ds Learning Transfer principles to determine organizational training needs.
  • Determines the most effective instructional method, media, presentation style, and designs to drive learning transfer.
  • Coordinates development of curricula and training tools to deliver courses to all levels and functional areas within the organization.
  • Develops and implements training effectiveness measures.
  • Assesses training needs for Terumo BCT products, processes (including compliance-related topics), and tools (e.g. software applications).
  • Partners with functional and business areas and works cross-functionally with subject matter experts within Terumo BCT.
  • Designs effective technical training programs, including train-the-trainer programs, new product launches, and the on-going support of existing products. Target audience includes internal associates, external customers, and distributors.  
  • May act as a facilitator to deliver training programs.
  • Creates, manages, coordinates, and successfully executes project plans for training solutions that support business initiatives. 
  • May evaluate and recommend vendor training programs.
  • May evaluation and recommend training software programs and other systems used to drive learning transfer.
  • Maintains an awareness of training and development industry trends and practices.
  • Acts as an internal consultant to the organization regarding the application of current training and development philosophies to drive learning transfer.
  • Redesigns existing programs with improvements to media and strategy; may also include redesigning for new/alternative delivery formats, including mobile delivery.
  • Produces a variety of instructional media elements including graphics, illustrations, photographs, animation, text, video, and/or sound used to enhance the online and instructor-led content.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 5 years experience.

  • Successful application of learning transfer principles, concepts, and tools.
  • Acting as a consultant using influence and expert knowledge to drive learning transfer,  performance improvement, and business outcomes/results.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting needs assessments and designing and implementing training programs.
  • Experience developing learning solutions deployed in the SuccessFactors LMS is a plus.
  • Experience developing mobile learning solutions is a plus.
  • Experience in multimedia development and production, preferably in a corporate setting, strongly desired.
  • Experience in creating animations and interactive elements for e-Learning courseware in animation software stongly desired.
  • Experience in recording/editing audio, video, and digital photographs for e-Learning courseware and other media formats strongly desired.
  • Experience with equipment including cameras and lighting and recording tools, strongly desired.
  • Experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional, global teams and projects.

 

Skills

  • Knowledge of adult learning, learning transfer, and effective instruction methods.
  • Strong conceptual thinking; ability to take raw content and create designs that support delivering an engaging learning experience.
  • Dedicated to quality customer service and proactive and responsive to customer needs.
  • Requires planning and organizational skills to establish an effective course of action.
  • Requires ability to  gain acceptance for ideas from internal partners through influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to design/develop eLearning programs.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications such as Microsoft Office tools, project management software, and Visio. Design and media development tools include: Articulate Storyline, Articulate Presenter, Articulate Engage, Articulate Quizmaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate, Adobe Dreamweaver, Sony SoundForge, Actionscript, Javascript and/or HTML5.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong verbal, writing and listening skills, analytical and problem solving skills and creative and design skills are preferred.
  • Working knowledge of media principles, including an understanding of the uses and advantages/disadvantages of different media channels

  • Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
