Health and Wellness Analyst Sr



The Senior Health and Wellness Analyst supports and leads the day-to-day administration of the U.S. health and wellness programs for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies in the areas of value creation, cost management, compliance risk mitigation and the attraction and retention of key talent. This role encourages a constructive dialogue amongst Human Resources and Finance in the alignment of U.S. benefits programs with business objectives, as well as to champion the implementation, administration and management of more concentrated tools and processes for sustaining and measuring value.

This role is responsible for providing analytical support in the development, implementation, project management and day-to-day administration of group health and well-being programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, leave of absence, paid-time-off, employee assistance, and retirement programs, etc.) within all Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies U.S. businesses. In addition, the role will assist in the management of all regulatory filings and vendor management, ensuring customer service excellence, benchmarking of new benefits programs, and improving existing programs.


These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.


  • Responsible for the day-to-day management/administration of the benefits plans and vendor relationships.
  • Administers service level agreements (SLAs) and performance guarantees at the contract level and holds benefits/vendor partners accountable for the agreed upon deliverables.
  • Obtain voice of customer and external perspectives to establish the most effective benefits plans design in alignment with the Company’s Total Rewards strategy that ensures cost effectiveness, market competitiveness, compliance; as well as meets the destination workplace and well-being vision.
  • Assists in the develop, enhance, and implement design changes to the various health and welfare plan offerings.
  • Assist with ensuring health and well-being programs align with Company culture, associate care, and legal requirements and regulations.
  • Administers annual benefits open enrollment to ensure effective communication and implementation.
  • Assist in the develop, implement, and administer well-being programs including expansion towards a global offering/administration, ensuring the appropriate analyses, communications, and vendor alignments.
  • Ensure program effectiveness through benchmarking efforts and monitoring global market trends and best practices.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in resolving escalated associate issues related to benefits and leave administration.
  • Administers paid time off and other leave programs.
  • Performs audits and reconciliation of U.S. 401k and Executive Retirement Plan.
  • Performs audits for process improvement and identifies potential training issues.
  • Assists in the develop and delivery of communication tools for HR and associates on education of benefits plans/programs and decision-making rights.
  • Influence the features and functionality design of our HRIS and other benefits platforms.


Total Rewards:

  • Provide support to streamline, simplify and ensure operational excellence in the execution of global Total Rewards programs.
  • Provide support with severances/separations, and reorganizations.
  • Provide support to the Global Rewards Team on key projects and initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of Human Resources/Benefits administration and/or related area.
  • Skilled knowledge of benefits plans, laws, and regulations to include ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Skilled ability to analyze issues, determine appropriate solutions and resolve sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with ability to provide service and remain focused even during emotionally charged circumstances.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with HRIS Systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Strong process improvement and project management capability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated presentation/facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgement and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.


  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and/or Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certification designation.




Target Pay Range:  $76,600.00 to $95,700.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
