JOB TITLE:  Sr. Manager, Global Platform Leader – Whole Blood Automation

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Global Platform Leader for worldwide product management of the Reveos Automated Blood Processing product line (https://www.terumobct.com/reveos) is responsible for enabling sales growth across both developed and emerging markets, owning the product lifecycle management (PLM) process, driving the global platform strategy, developing the global value-propositions, collaborating with the regional teams to ensure best-in-class commercialization, and, importantly, staying aligned with market trends, global sales teams, and customers to continually assess and explore growth opportunities.  Beyond product or technical platform considerations, the Global Platform Leader will be tightly aligned with the Services, Solutions, and Software teams to address the broader needs and aspirations of global blood center customers. 

The primary focus of this role over the next 24 months will be to ensure successful commercialization and product launch of the Reveos platform in U.S. and China and to drive whole blood processing conversions globally.

 

This position reports to the Director of Global Platform Management and will work closely with I&D, (Innovation and Development), Medical Affairs, Sales, and Geographic Marketing teams globally.  We are a market leader in this product category with long standing customers that are the focus of our business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Enable global sales growth across the Reveos platform.
  • Operate as the global “go to” leader for the platform and own issue resolution, platform lifecycle management and strategic development focused on innovating the platform and business model to take share and expand the addressable market.
  • Establish and is held accountable for credible strategies and effective marketing plans, and partners with regional commercial teams for product sales (units, revenue) forecasts, market share/penetration goals, profitability, ASP, product mix, disposable utilization, and/or other key performance indicators. 
  • Lead activities to acquire, evaluate, store and disseminate business intelligence, including VOC market research, market trends, competitive intelligence, and academic and business literature.
  • Assess and integrate customer needs and market trends within the context of product systems and business capabilities.  Translate this assessment into effective marketing strategies, pricing recommendations and value propositions.
  • Ongoing and significant contact with customers and other medical professionals in the field, representatives of professional organizations with whom the business is affiliated, and professional/management levels within the business.
  • Cultivate strong cross functional relationships and collaborate with key functions (including R&D, new business development, regulatory, clinical, operations, geographic and corporate marketing, and sales) towards successful launch readiness and development of the business area product pipeline.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.  Master’s strongly degree preferred.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years experience, preferably in sales and/or marketing and/or managerial consulting.
  • Must have medical device or life science industry experience.

 

Skills

  • Strategic synthesis; established track record of adding or creating value in a strategic context. 
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing techniques such as VOC needs analysis, value creation, product positioning, and marketplace dynamics as they relate to product, price, and promotion and strong working knowledge of global sales techniques and market/clinical execution.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to solve problems and develop programs with creativity and good judgment despite incomplete or ambiguous information.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skill in functional alignment and influence.
  • Proven experience with strategic planning process, including market and environmental analysis, opportunity assessment, plan development, execution, measurement and adjustment.
  • Able to assess risk and benefit and recommend risk as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated working experience with a phase-gate product development process, product lifecycle or end-to-end product management, including developing new products through phase-out process.
  • Experience working in the context of a large, complex, global organization with minimal supervision. 
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Target Pay Range:  $153,400.00 to $191,700.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  20.0%
