Global Internal Audit Manager

 

JOB SUMMARY

Position is responsible for overall management and strategic development, design, and execution of a risk based worldwide internal audit program.  Accountable for evaluating Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (“J-SOX”), operational risks, processes, and controls.  In addition, communicate risks identified, control deficiencies, and recommendations to improve in formalized audit reports.   Deliver, quarterly executive summary audit results to the Control Environment Oversight Committee (“Compliance Committee” comprised of executive members).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Responsible for all phases of financial, compliance, and operational audits in accordance with department, regulatory, and professional standards.
  • Institute global internal audit charter that outlines methodology regarding the internal audit department guidelines, practices and procedures that govern the function.
  • Facilitate independent assessments regarding J-SOX compliance, collaborating with parent company Terumo Corporation and external auditors.
  • Possess IT General Control and IT Application Control acumen for J-SOX compliance execution.  SAP experience preferred.
  • Communicate with and educate process owners effectively on the importance of controls, an effective control environment, and continuous J-SOX compliance.
  • Identify and evaluate the company’s audit risk areas and develop a risk-based annual audit plan dedicated to aligning with company objectives.  Coordinate audit plan with CFO, Compliance Committee, and parent company.
  • Develop internal audit programs by conducting end-to-end audit procedures pertaining to the audit lifecycle, including planning, execution, reporting, and remediation validation.
  • Prepare formal audit reports, document audit scope, audit procedures, findings, and recommendations, including significance of audit findings.  Prepare reports for distribution to executive and operating management, including the Compliance Committee.
  • Serve as liaison between Internal Audit and the Compliance and Legal teams. Execute audit projects developed through agreed upon procedures.
  • Build collaborative and trusting relationships with business and cross-functional teams globally.
  • Direct responsibility for mentoring and development of global internal audit members.
  • Member of the parent company’s global internal audit team; participate in peer discussions, execute audit initiatives, and conduct audit procedures based upon agreed programs.
  • Assist CFO and leadership with other requests as assigned.
  • Active participation in the Compliance Committee.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, computer science, or related field required.

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of applicable work experience including 5 years of public accounting and/or internal audit of a major company with decentralized operations working with and developing internal control documentation, auditing techniques, risk assessment, and developing audit plans are required.
  • Sarbanes Oxley experience in developing a control framework, outlining key controls, and developing monitoring processes is required
  • Knowledge of and experience in manufacturing and\or regulated industries is preferred.  International business experience is also desirable.
  • SAP experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective.
  • Results-oriented individual with strong influencing, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Good planning, project management and organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities at one time.
  • CPA, CIA, or CISA designation strongly desired.

Typical Office Environment requirements include reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Additional Physical Requirements

Limited global travel will be required.

 

Target Pay Range:  $87,900.00 to $109,900.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
