JOB TITLE  General Manager (GM), Plasma Innovations

 

JOB SUMMARY

Leads the strategic positioning and commercial growth of the Plasma Innovation business at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies. Responsible for developing and executing a five-year growth strategy that delivers sustainable, long-term value, with expected revenue in FY25 to be more than $250M.  Accountable for creating differentiated offerings, building and leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful execution of product and service programs. This leader represents the voice of the customer, drives internal alignment, and delivers high-impact customer outcomes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Strategy and Business Leadership

  • Lead and execute the current and five-year growth strategy for Plasma Innovation, aligned with customer needs, portfolio vision, and business priorities.
  • Continuously assess market dynamics, customer insights, and competitive activity to inform strategic planning and prioritize investments.
  • Deliver growth across existing and new customer segments through commercialization of new products, services, software, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish TerumoBCT’s voice in the industry, establishing personal credibility with KOLs and Industry experts.

 

Commercial Execution

  • Lead commercialization strategy and execution across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Service, and Marketing.
  • Drive delivery of new products, services, and software on-time, within scope and budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ensure coordination of launch planning, training, service readiness, supply chain preparation, and sales execution.
  • Align with customers and non-customers to understand insights and prioritize solutions that provide compelling value in technology and customer experience, including changes to existing products, and development of new products, services, software, and data management solutions.
  • Accountable for negotiating and finalizing contracts with major customers and supporting adjunct contracts for enterprise business and accounts globally.
  • Accountable for establishing product pricing and ensuring profitability of the product portfolio.  Responsible for business are’s financial and budget planning/forecasting process and managing key performance indicators.

  • Build and lead diverse, high-performing teams across matrixed functions and global geographies.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ambiguity, change, and competing priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.  Master’s degree in business, healthcare or related area strongly preferred.

 

Experience

Minimum 15 years experience of progressively responsible management experience in global commercialization of medical device/pharmaceutical products.  Experience working in the plasma market.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally. (15-20%)

 

 

 

Target Pay Range:  $284,000.00 to $355,100.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  40% - 45%
