Manager, FP&A

 

JOB SUMMARY

The FP&A Manager is responsible for leading financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management activities for assigned business areas. This role serves as a strategic finance partner to business leadership and cross-functional teams, providing financial insight, decision support, and recommendations that improve business performance, manage risk, and identify growth opportunities.

Reporting to Finance leadership, this role directs FP&A activities, supports enterprise planning cycles, partners with stakeholders on financial priorities, and drives process improvement across financial systems, reporting tools, and workflow automation.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Financial Leadership & Accountability

  • Own FP&A accountability for assigned business areas, including:
    • Operating expense and headcount planning
    • Financial performance, variance analysis, and KPI visibility
  • Serve as a finance advisor to business leadership, enabling informed decision-making across financial priorities, resource allocation, and operational performance

Planning, Forecasting & Long‑Range Strategy

  • Lead financial components of:
    • Monthly and quarterly forecasts
    • Annual operating plan (AOP)
    • Multi‑year long‑range planning (LRP)
  • Guide functional leaders through planning assumptions, trade‑offs, and scenario analysis
  • Ensure alignment between functional plans and enterprise financial objectives
  • Partner with business leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate business performance, key risks, and growth opportunities as part of strategic planning
  • Review, challenge, and approve functional financial submissions before consolidation at the corporate level

 

Business Performance & Decision Support

  • Provide financial analysis and decision support across:
    • Revenue, expense, margin, and headcount trends
    • Scenario modeling, investment prioritization, and resource allocation decisions
    • Business case development and post-decision performance tracking
  • Translate financial results into actionable insights, and recommendations for leadership
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting packages to support forecast accuracy, business reviews, and performance management

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Financial Analysts
  • Set expectations for analytical rigor, business partnership, and executive‑quality outputs
  • Review and elevate analyses prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and insight
  • Allocate workload and priorities in alignment with corporate FP&A direction

 

Reporting, Analytics & Process Excellence

  • Deliver clear, actionable financial reporting to Finance leadership and executive stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, reporting standards, and planning workflows
  • Collaborate with Financial Systems and cross-functional partners to optimize reporting tools, data quality, and workflow automation
  • Ensure appropriate use of ERP, planning, and BI tools to increase insight and efficiency

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred

 

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles
  • Minimum 2 years in a people leadership or process‑ownership role preferred
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Experience in medical device, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization

 

Skills

  • Expert‑level financial planning, forecasting, and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of business drivers, cost structures, financial statements, and performance management
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through complexity
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Strong executive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP platforms preferred
  • Experience with financial planning systems (e.g., Workday Adaptive, Anaplan, OneStream)
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Demonstrated leadership, judgment, and accountability mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage digital tools, automation, and emerging technologies to improve analytical efficiency and business insight

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role will be based on site in Lakewood, CO with hybrid flexibility

 

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Target Pay Range:  $112,000.00 to $140,000.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  15.0%
