We are seeking an experienced engineering statistical expert to work part-time and provide industry-relevant guidance to R&D and cross-functional teams, ensuring the proper application of statistical methods in line with regulatory standards. This role also involves supporting the global statistical techniques procedures, contributing to their maintenance and expansion, and delivering impactful training to foster best practices in statistical applications.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintains or creates statistical procedures, work instructions, and guidance documents.
  • Develops and delivers statistical guidance training.
  • Hosts statistical knowledge sharing forums.
  • Advise engineers, scientists, and technicians on the proper applications of statistics in the medical device industry.
  • Mentors team members in problem solving techniques, such as Six Sigma.
  • Provide audit support to the quality department for defending statistical rationales as needed.
  • Researches new techniques to provide valid alternative options.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, engineering statistics, bio-statistics, operations research, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered. Master’s degree preferred.

 

Experience

Minimum 10 years experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in the medical device industry.

 

Skills

  • In depth understanding of the concepts of verification and validation sampling plans to demonstrate confidence and reliability, and acceptance sampling plans to balance consumer and producer risks.
  • In depth understanding of the use statistical methods used in the medical device industry such as (list not exhaustive):
    • normality and distribution testing
    • hypothesis testing
    • equivalence testing
    • experimental design
    • regression techniques
    • reliability analyses
    • capability analyses
    • analyses using censored data
    • non-parametric methods
    • measurement system analyses
  • Advanced knowledge and use of relevant functions in Excel and Minitab for statistical analyses.
  • Ability to explain and train statistical concepts to new statistical users.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical problem solving methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Six Sigma Black Belt certification or Certified Quality Engineer certification required.

 

LOCATION

Lakewood, Colorado - Open to candidates willing to relocate to the area.

Target Pay Range:  $123,600.00 to $154,500.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
