Title: OpEx (Operational Excellence) Engineer 3

 

JOB SUMMARY

Tasked with driving the Continuous Improvement culture, the CI Engineer III will be responsible in helping lead the Colorado and global CI strategy by upgrading/creating processes to eliminate waste, increase efficiencies, and advance factory KPIs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Accountable to drive the implementation of the OpEx program across the Colorado factories to deliver improvements in manufacturing, quality, operating margins, and culture.
  • Lean Thinker that drives the culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Create the “Multiplier Effect” by helping Operation teams drive improvements across their departments through CI training and coaching.
  • Responsible for managing and leading CI projects along with factory engineers.
  • Drive the standardization of processes and implementation of metrics and best practices.
  • Work with other departments to identify areas of improvement to deliver a robust and cost-effective end to end process through constant Gemba Walk mindset and Kaizen events.
  • Maintain KPI targets in line with business strategy.
  • Identify and implement new processes, systems, and operating mechanisms to remove wasteful steps along the factory process.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology throughout the manufacturing facility and processes.
  • Assist in setting annual operational targets and drive improvements to achieve those targets.
  • Work direction responsibility may include technicians and junior engineers.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in improvement projects in manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma. Preferably certified (theoretical and practical) Black Belt.
  • Experience in deploying a Global OpEx program or similar foundational systems for CI.
  • Strong automation and manual manufacturing process understanding.

Skills

  • Generalist engineer with track-record of working with departments in any type of process.
  • Gemba Mindset and laser focused on removing deficiencies.
  • Strong inter-personal skills: stakeholder management and motivation/influencing techniques.
  • Works effectively within a team to achieve common goals, often influencing the outcome of the team. Proven ability to self-manage and deliver on time/budget with minimum guidance.
  • Technical leadership and project management, coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of and adherence to GMP practices and FDA regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

 

Target Pay Range:  $87,800.00 to $109,800.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
