Customer Excellence Engineer 2



Seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Customer Excellence Engineer in the Global Quality organization.  This individual will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Product Quality, Manufacturing, and I&D teams to investigate, resolve, and communicate customer issues.  In addition, this individual will be responsible for providing holistic systems expertise and support for designated product platforms.  The position requires strong problem-solving skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.



  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of a variety of factors and significant cross-functional interaction.
  • Leads portions of significant large-scale projects and has total management responsibility for smaller projects.
  • Handles frequent intra-organizational and customer-facing communication.  Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific customer concerns.
  • Possess working knowledge of cross-functional and related technical areas. Interacts with peers across projects to secure resources and commitments.
  • Provides subject matter expertise for both internal and external customer-specific processes and challenges.  Is accessible and sought out for consultation on a broad range technical and industry issues. 
  • Maintains baseline knowledge of customers’ processes and challenges.
  • Identifies risks and understands how to approach and complete tasks, avoiding serious delays and considerable expenditure of time and resources.                  
  • Performs data analysis in support of customer requests, emerging issues, and pro-active monitoring of field performance.
  • Presents complex technical information/analysis and responds to questions from technical staff members and management.   
  • Works cooperatively and effectively within a team environment to achieve common goals and results, often influencing the outcome of the team(s).
  • Solicits and accepts the ideas of others, while actively contributing to an environment conducive to open communication.
  • Can shift gears with little direction; can decide and act without having the total picture.



  • Work assignments may require additional development and a maturing or broadening of in-depth engineering skill(s).
  • Role includes interaction with associates across the globe and may require time outside of standard business hours.





  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferred.



  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.



  • Strong interactive skills in general communication with a wide variety of backgrounds, cross-functional participation and influence, technical leadership, and project management.
  • Requires the ability to learn new and diverse skills in a rapid and dynamic work environment. 
  • Possess the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/issues at one time and can shift gears quickly.
  • Ability to respond with a sense of urgency, work productively and efficiently, to respond to daily pressures and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills. Mechanical, electrical, and/or software aptitude to assist with cross-domain triage and investigation, preferred.
  • Experience in working with customers in a clinical setting (i.e. physicians, nurses, and other technical staff), preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding of and adherence to GMP practices and FDA regulations.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively (i.e. SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft products).



An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.



General Labor Environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Additional Physical Requirements

Requires domestic and international travel based on business needs.




Target Pay Range:  $74,300.00 to $92,900.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
