JOB SUMMARY

Provides leadership for multiple marketing groups across Terumo BCT business segments.  Sets strategic direction and objectives, with review and approval by top business management.  Develops and directs others in the development and execution of strategy, development and delivery of effective sales tools, programs and in problem resolution. Collaborates with key functions and global resources in the development and commercialization of products across the portfolio. The Director will report directly into the VP, North America, Commercial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Strategy

  • Provide vision, direction, and leadership to the North America Regional Marketing team. Create energy and momentum within the team and with all internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Leads marketing staff in translating customer objectives, needs and problems into defining customer buying segments, developing of regional program objectives and regional marketing strategies.
  • Works to ensure regional integration for strategic planning across all functions that impact product development, production, and delivery and across product lines.  To this end, coordinates efforts with Global Marketing, Innovation and Development, Operations, and other functional areas. 
  • Drive insights and needs assessment for our customer’s key stakeholders (regulators, payors, policy makers) to increase market access and influence standards in manufacturing and delivering therapy products.
  • Analyze metrics to constantly evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and initiatives.  Identify opportunities to improve performance (from internal and customers’ perspectives) and develop tactics and tools to monitor and communicate results.
  • Develops and directs others in the development and execution of strategy, development and delivery of effective sales tools, programs and in problem resolution. Utilizes tools such as ‘customer share of wallet’ and installed base analysis to identify organic and inorganic growth areas in geography. 
  • Responsible for building data-driven regional and country specific go-to-market plans collaborating with key functions in the global marketing teams.  
  • Financial and budget planning/forecasting, review, recommendations and tracking of key performance indicators.
  • Drive lead creation efforts within existing market segmentation and new market opportunities.
  • Work with regional sales and marketing leaders in development and refinement of promotional pricing strategies and sales tools.
     

Communication

  • Drive understanding of customer needs/issues, market dynamics and competitive landscape in partnership with regional teams and communicate global trends.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across functions and geographies.
  • Interface regularly with internal and regional customer interfacing groups to solicit feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build relationships with current and future customers providing high level targeted solutions for current and future development opportunities.
  • Maintain contacts involving significant responsibility with customers and other medical professionals, representatives of professional organizations with whom the business is affiliated, and professional/management levels within the business. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
     

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Marketing and/or Sales. 
  • Experience in medical device or healthcare marketing.

 

Skills

 

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and employee development ability.
  • Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated skill in sales/marketing planning and program delivery, especially in the commercialization of new products, particularly in the regional market(s)
  • Analytical thinking skills and the demonstrated ability to lead others in problem solving and program development that demonstrates creativity and good judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer needs and market trends within the context of product and business capabilities and the ability to translate this assessment into workable regional plan for execution.
  • Knowledge of the regional regulatory and reimbursement systems.
  • Strong financial acumen and project management skills required.
  • Knowledge or experience in the regional healthcare markets.
  • Multi language capabilities would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and comfortably with physicians and other medical professionals, as well as with all levels within the business organization.

Additional Physical Requirements

There will be an occasional requirement to work outside of normal business hours, consistent with other Director-level positions.

Domestic and International travel up to 30%.

 

Target Pay Range:  $168,000.00 to $215,000.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  30.0%
