JOB TITLE:   Director, Program Management - SAP S4HANA

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Program Manager will lead Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies global transformation from SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA, ensuring a seamless transition globally across operations, manufacturing, supply chain, IT, and finance. This role is accountable for driving the end-to-end program lifecycle—from strategy and planning through execution and delivery—while aligning stakeholders, managing risks, and maintaining transparency at all levels.

 

Reporting to the Enterprise PMO, this role will:

  • Lead project scoping, planning, and execution in alignment with business goals and the transformation roadmap
  • Drive integration of internal and external elements across global functions
  • Oversee business process reengineering efforts to align with the S/4HANA platform
  • Establish and enforce program governance, including decision-making frameworks, clear roles, and escalation paths
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement across executive leadership, the steering committee, and stakeholders
  • Will serve as a key member of the SAP S4HANA Leadership team

 

Required Experience:
The ideal candidate has successfully led the full lifecycle implementation of SAP S/4HANA from a single instance of SAP ECC6 in a global, highly regulated environment. Proven experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional ERP programs with discipline, urgency, and a focus on measurable business value is essential.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead the end-to-end SAP ECC 6 to SAP S4 HANA global implementation program.
  • Partner with the program teams and the leadership teams, technology teams and system integrator to design the overall transformation program including business process reengineering resulting in a standards based, out-of-the-box, industry best practices approach.
  • Responsible for detailed program/project planning, program budget, stakeholder alignment, and deliverables.
  • Support the business requirements and conduct gap analysis bridging that gap to stay within project scope with the goal of industry best practices with limited customizations (instead may include integrations with 3rd party applications).
  • Develop and execute complex program and project plans for the delivery, identification and management of program resources in a matrixed environment.
  • Ensure thoughtful People, Change and Learning within a strong Organizational Change Management approach to training and organizational readiness.
  • Create and execute communication strategies that effectively convey the vision for change and maintain engagement throughout the transformation
  • Skilled in the concepts of GxP & ISO Validation Protocols
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are met within defined timeframes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure global alignment and buy-in across the organization
  • Interface with all levels of management to provide strategic and tactical advice on project planning execution, change management and keep leadership well informed.
  • Tracks status and metrics on the project delivery and value; escalates to functional management upon identification of deviations (or potential deviations) from plan and budget.
  • Monitors program progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintains and reports on project budget.
  • Resolves and/or escalates program-related issues in a timely fashion.
  • Accountable for the project being on time and on budget.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.  MBA preferred.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years SAP implementation experience
  • Minimum of 5 years medical device/biomedical industry or regulatory environment experience
  • Experience leading an SAP S/4 HANA implementation from ECC6 to S/4 HANA.
  • Experience in developing and implementing change management strategies globally for the success of the program.
  • Experience in end-to-end S/4 HANA project lifecycle implementation for global company operating worldwide
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment 
  • Proficiency in working with SAFE Agile teams
  • Executive level communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of LEAN principles and experience in application of such principles

SKILLS

  • ECC6 to S/4 HANA experience required.
  • Understanding of SAP systems, modules, and implementation best practices.
  • Strong background in program management, complex program execution and operational excellence in a highly regulated environment.
  • Management of status and executive reporting of project scope, change order requirements, project milestone signoff documents, open item lists, risks and issues management, RAID logs and all other project governance artifacts/management dashboards.
  • Ability to support the business process reengineering, business and technical requirements, and conduct gap analysis and providing scenarios and solutions based on the gap analysis with the result of limited customizations.
  • Knowledge of hyperscaler services and infrastructure, system integration and best practices.
  • Knowledge to drive global data migration including a proper master data governance methodology.
  • Expertise in identifying, mitigating, and communicating project risks
  • Skills in cost estimation, budget management, and cost-benefit analysis
  • Ensuring proper documentation standards to support IQ/OQ/PQ protocols
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations
  • Ability to lead organizational readiness and hypercare activities as go-live occurs and support post-go-live.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams effectively
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate project and program objectives to internal and external teams including clear, timely communication to senior and executive leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to analyze complex data

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

PMP or equivalent certification preferred

Target Pay Range:  $201,500.00 to $251,900.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  30.0%
