JOB TITLE: Director, Global Portfolio Marketing, BCS

 

JOB SUMMARY

Strategic global leader to develop strategy, drive business growth, and elevate market presence for the Blood Center Solutions business area.  The position is responsible for the development and delivery of strategic planning, product lifecycle management, new product and services development, and 4Ps marketing management, considering the full continuum of care for the entire Blood Center Systems portfolio.  The function maintains a critical linkage and partnership with internal stakeholders including regional sales and marketing, innovation & development, operations, finance, global services, regulatory affairs, and quality.  The position engages with and manages needs of key external stakeholders including customer groups, associations, providers, payers, policy makers, and regulators.  Responsibilities handled independently with minimal direction while exercising considerable judgment in determining the objectives and strategies that will meet company objectives.  The position reports to the General Manager, BCS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Leadership

  • Provide vision, direction and leadership to the Blood Center Systems Marketing team of Global Platform Leaders. Create energy and momentum within the team and with all internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive growth in both developed and emerging markets across the care continuum for BCS, including potential to address needs with adjacent markets and white space opportunities
  • Drive insights and needs assessment for our customer’s key stakeholders (regulators, payors, policy makers) to increase market access and influence standards in manufacturing and delivering BCS products.
  • Analyze metrics to constantly evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve performance (from internal and customers’ perspectives) and develop tactics and tools to monitor and communicate results.
  • Responsible for the lifecycle management of the platforms within the BCS product portfolio, including maintenance of product roadmaps, new product introduction, product line extensions, SKU rationalization, sunset strategy, and other projects directly affecting business profitability.
  • Manage and develop team focusing on key competencies mapped to the success of overall business goals.
  • Financial and budget planning/forecasting, review, recommendations and tracking of key performance indicators.
  • Drive lead creation efforts within existing market segmentation and new market opportunities.
  • Partner with regional sales and marketing leaders in development and refinement of promotional pricing strategies and sales tools.
  • Track sales execution to target, co-own sales strategies, and drive commercial countermeasure to ensure plan execution.
     

Communication

  • Drive understanding of customer needs/issues, market dynamics and competitive landscape in partnership with regional teams and communicate global trends.
  • Oversees projects of considerable complexity involving solutions to problems that affect the entire business and where errors in judgment and decision-making normally will result in failure to achieve goals critical to the maintenance and development of market share objectives, product marketability, and business profitability.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across functions and geographies.
  • Interface regularly with internal and regional customer interfacing groups to solicit feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build relationships with current and future customers providing high level targeted solutions for current and future development opportunities.
  • Maintain contacts involving significant responsibility with customers and other medical professionals, representatives of professional organizations with whom the business is affiliated, and professional/management levels within the business. 
  • Evaluate communication, documentation programs, and support tools for effectiveness through customer and sales force feedback as well as objective research.
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Knowledge necessary to perform in this position is generally acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.  MBA preferred. 

 

Experience

Minimum of 12 years of management experience with specific focus on business strategy development, marketing and cross-functional leadership.

  • Demonstrated positive and effective management and leadership skills, including coaching and development of first and second level managers. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Approximately 30% travel to both domestic and international locations with extended work hours.

Target Pay Range:  $158,000 to $225,000  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  30.0%
